Strong and feminine

“I will show Your Illustrious Lordship what a woman can do.
The works will speak for themselves.”
Thus Artemisia Gentileschi wrote to the patron Don Antonio Rufo.
A woman symbol of strength, freedom, determination, but also a woman who with her art has expressed the heartbreaking pain and anger of her soul.
I spoke about what Artemisia experienced in another review, the greatest violation that can be done to a woman, aggravated even more by the environment and times in which she lived, victims of a painfully patriarchal conception.
A dual fragrance, which represents her womanity but also her immense strength: initially soft and creamy notes alternate with other strong and masculine ones, where Oud sometimes emerges.
It is not a perfume for everyone, it really has a very strong personality, it's not my thing but it is a really well made creation and above all very representative of the character that inspires it.
“Susanna and the Elders”, painted by Artemisia Gentileschi.

Beautiful!
This is a fragrance that immediately captivated me! The name alone and the story behind the concept interested me. Artemisia Gentileschi has had to assert herself in a male-dominated world all her life.

At the beginning, the fragrance is extremely spicy and almost a little bitter. I was reminded a lot of Carduus! Over time, however, it develops in a completely unique direction.

It remains a little harsh (due to the many herbs) but also has a soft side. A little sweetness and velvety leather round it off really well! For me, it reflects Artemisia's necessary toughness and assertiveness, as well as something emotional and human. The fragrance plays with contrasts - its harsh herbs are off-putting, but then draw you closer and closer.

Really beautifully done! I can only recommend the fragrance and I really like it enormously (perhaps especially because of the inspiration)
