If you have a hobby of collecting perfumes, you naturally don't think much of fragrance duplicates for €5. They don't last long, smell scratchier, have uglier bottles, and simultaneously remind us of how much the perfume companies are ripping us off and how much we pay for the brand itself. Because the dupes often smell very similar. I also believe that the dupes have harmful ingredients less often, since they have to pass through the same German controls as the originals.

Nevertheless, my excitement was limited when I received Catsuit Amigo as a gift. It was immediately clear to me that it was a copy of Kokorico. This was confirmed by the fragrance notes listed here and a first test on the strip as well. But even though I remembered that the dupes at my mother's were always very similar to the originals, I was still skeptical.

The scent is quick to describe: green and at the same time chocolaty. It also reminds me a bit of Nasomatto's Pardon - just at the cheapest level. However, the price difference is definitely greater than the qualitative one. Fig meets chocolate, and in the end, the dry vetiver takes away all the edge. Of course, everything is highly synthetic, which you would also notice in a blind test, I'm sure of that.

If you hardly notice it in the scent itself, then the statistics must speak against the blatant counterfeit, right? Not really. It lasted a good 6 hours today and I could often still smell it myself. The bottle is, of course, more suitable for the bathroom cabinet and for hiding.

You just have to weigh the price against the brand and slightly better quality. Overall, I would never reach for duplicates, but for those who only care about the scents and want to pay little, dupes are definitely absolutely sufficient!
