If I had to dissolve my collection today....
and could only keep one fragrance, it would be this one.
What am I writing? I think this stuff is making me high.... I’ll stop sniffing and keep writing....

I stumbled upon it yesterday at Müller in the discount section. I immediately mocked it in my mind: Now there's also something called swallow pee to spray on?
Actually, I was looking for the Jaguar for man, the nose-scratching brush from 1988, which I wanted to buy out of protest because I haven’t found a fragrance I can perceive and like for many years. Most are too artificial or just watery for me. Even most classics are heavily toned down today. Sniff.
So, where is the old Jaguar hiding? It should be somewhere here, in the vertical bargain bin for drugstore scents and old trinkets without a good distribution company.

Back and forth again, and there it is, Ronaldo!
Ah, screw it, now I want to know what the crybaby has produced. At least I can make fun of it!

I sprayed, recoiled, and was amazed!
What a substance! Really? That came out of there? Unbelievable. That was no swallow, it was real and actually quite good!
The price tag is yellow, so it's a special offer. Took a closer look:
9.95 for 30ml EDP! Didn’t think twice, I’ll take two. Or all?
I then went to the checkout with a smile and two Ronaldos in a headlock (I had other stuff in my hands too! ;-). Hold on, I need to pay for these two elevated treasures!

With the first spray, I get Neroli and traces of basil, which caresses the Neroli as if it were a single scent. Citrus is also present for a while (who's surprised?).
But then immediately the Clearwood-tonka-vanilla flash, surrounded by fine pipe tobacco. Just a hint! Cocoa might have been stirred in as well. There’s something slightly irritatingly erotic about it too.
Some kind of Ronaldo pheromone? No idea what it is, maybe the combination.

Why do I always think of a flanker of Davidoff's Relax whenever I take a deep, close breath of this fragrance?

The whole thing remains the same for hours: dark, but not heavy, delicious and calming. Quite vanilla-like, tonka bean-like, without being overly sweet.
But it will probably soon be prescription-only, and knowing EU legislation, classified as potentially addictive. ;-)

The main fragrance ingredient, which is absolutely dominant, is the Clearwood.
According to the manufacturer, it is an extract from patchouli, from which the earthy and musty notes have been removed. What remains is a light oil that smells of maple syrup and dark wood. (It does not smell like pure patchouli at all.)

The longevity on my skin is enormous, easily 8-10 hours. Sprayed in the evening, I can still smell it in the morning.
Since it doesn’t contain BHT, I also spray it on my skin without worry.
The sillage is quite good.

If someone can appreciate vanilla, tonka bean, and neroli (orange blossom) in men's fragrances, they will probably like this scent.
I can only agree, forget who the fragrance is from!
Be bold!
Go to the store, if no one you know can see you bending down.
Or pretend something, Ronaldo used to do that all the time! Calf cramp in front of the shelf, pacifier dropped, gold bars slipped out of your pocket, whatever!

That gives me a thought. Many fragrances outside the mainstream that were on special offer were often discontinued afterward. I’ve lost quite a few treasures that way.
How long are they open today? There were still seven pieces on the shelf! Please excuse me....

Setting Aside Prejudices
Everyone knows him. Cristiano Ronaldo, CR7. Footballer, advertising face, a brand of our time. For many, he is the slick and arrogant type with the artificially grinning smile, who shares impressions of his "perfect" life on social media every day and also plays football on the side.

I must admit that I am truly not a fan of Ronaldo, and the points mentioned above reflect my thoughts about him. Among the large portfolio of products that Cristiano Ronaldo markets under his name, there have also been fragrances for some time now. Many might think, "What Beckham can do, I can do too." Big corporations hire them to launch one (typical "drugstore scent") after another, label them with their name, and the money starts rolling in. Was that Ronaldo's thought as well? I think not. In my opinion, Ronaldo did not bring his fragrances to market to rake in money (he already makes enough with advertising revenue, other products, and not least as a footballer), but I believe he wanted to be taken seriously in the fragrance market. If you watch the video on his homepage about the creation of this scent, you see Ronaldo and employees from fragrance houses smelling individual components of scents that could be selected to make the product "perfect." Whether that really happened as described, I doubt, but I do think that Ronaldo placed a lot of value on the selection and the outcome.

So why am I writing a comment about this fragrance? Because I believe it deserves it! Here in Germany, people know (if at all) the "normal" Legacy, which I would categorize as slightly above the average drugstore scent. Legacy Private Edition is a flanker to this, but for me, it is completely independent.

First of all, it's worth mentioning that Legacy Private Edition is an EdP, which is definitely noticeable. When you spray the fragrance fresh on, a sweet-woody note rises to your nose that I have never smelled before. Maple syrup is mentioned in the top note, and I find that this is the most noticeable note throughout the entire fragrance journey. I thought long about which fragrance Legacy Private Edition reminds me of, and I must say that absolutely no comparable scent comes to mind. The fragrance has a wonderful scent progression, and you can clearly recognize the transitions from top to heart to base notes.

Even though tonka bean and vanilla can be detected in the fragrance, it does not have the "standard sweetness" often encountered today, but rather a warm and fine sweetness that arises from the combination of these two fragrance materials along with the mentioned maple syrup and a hint of basil (here, if at all, there is a very slight and truly minimal similarity to "The One EdP").

The fragrance radiates very well from the skin during the first two hours and is noticeably present, even if you are not standing directly in front of someone. Later, it becomes a bit closer to the skin, but does not disappear completely. After about 6 hours, it becomes a bit "quieter," before Legacy Private Edition becomes skin-close after about 8 hours. I have worn the fragrance for some time now, and you will definitely be noticed by those around you; I have already received inquiries about what smells so good. The bottle itself is very beautiful and well-made, featuring a magnetic closure and a blue-gold color scheme, which I think fits well and skillfully underscores the fragrance concept.

For me, Legacy Private Edition is a fragrance that can be worn well throughout the entire year, although I would indicate colder days and months as the best time, as I can imagine it might become a bit too sweet and "muggy" in (very) warm weather (which I have not been able to test yet). To my nose, the fragrance is absolutely not a "teen" scent and can be worn well from the age of 20 and up, as it smells more "adult" than playful.

Although I did not buy this fragrance blindly, as I first tested it this year in Gran Canaria and then purchased it, I believe one can risk a blind buy, as it is relatively inexpensive (online) and you will definitely not experience a disappointment.

In summary, I can say that Legacy Private Edition is a really beautiful fragrance that is well-crafted and far removed from the drugstore scent standard. Anyone who has the opportunity to test this fragrance should definitely do so.

An independent fragrance with good longevity and sillage, which is affordably priced and absolutely unknown here. What more could you want? Respect to Cristiano Ronaldo, who really wanted to prove with this fragrance that he can create a scent that can also satisfy "more experienced" noses. And he has absolutely succeeded!

P.S. I still am not a fan of Ronaldo. ;-)

The New Employee
A new employee is starting with us. Sascha, a young and athletic guy. He plays football in the local district league club. He seems a bit arrogant, not very likable at first glance, and doesn't appear to be a candidate for a good future working relationship, let alone a future friendship beyond the office.

"You just have to get to know him better, maybe he's completely different"
"He just seems that way, give him a little time"
"He still has to settle in with us!"

my conscience tells me. Said and done. But we start slowly. A joint coffee break. Alright, the guy is pretty okay. Funny, relaxed, and not that arrogant after all. The first after-work beer - the footballer image works. It works for us like the football player in all American movies works. The women in this bar are taken with him and his athletic appearance. Good for him - demotivating for the dad bod-wearing Crystom. But still a good evening.

That's pretty much how I felt about this fragrance. At first, I wrinkled my nose - now I'm a big fan of this spicy-sweet, noble, and long-lasting drop. Conclusion: Some fragrances need a little time. You have to try them several times and "grow" with them - it can turn out completely differently than you think.

Player: Controversial! Fragrance: Outstanding!
When celebrities lend their names to fragrances, it doesn't always result in something good. Bumm Bumm Boris can sing a song about that. *cough.

Now, Cristiano Ronaldo... Idol... Megastar... Object of hate. No footballer polarizes like the Portuguese. This is my first fragrance from him. I know neither Legacy nor the CR7.

Legacy Private Edition is, for me, the perfect 30-meter free kick into the corner. It contains three of my favorite notes: neroli, tonka, vanilla. Definitely a fragrance for autumn/winter. However, it is also suitable for slightly mild spring days. It starts off very strong (maple syrup?) and becomes smoother, sweeter, creamier after a few minutes. The longevity is at Champions League level. 8-10 hours are easily achievable. The sillage is strong for the first 3 hours (be careful to perfect the dosage) and then becomes a bit weaker without completely retreating.
One side effect: It is very well received by women. Apparently, CR7 has bottled his (supposed) sexiness directly into this beautiful blue bottle.

Conclusion: A celebrity fragrance that truly delivers. Set aside your prejudices and give it a try. Currently available for under 50 for 100ml. There's nothing to complain about.

Thumbs up!

Synthetic pure (Addendum: never say never)
Since the scent has been received so well in previous comments, I thought I would give it a try.
So today I went to my trusted drugstore and generously sprayed the Legacy Private Edition on the back of my hand.
Oh dear, what is this? An absolutely sharp, artificially smelling cloud hit my nose. Ronaldo is not my favorite footballer, but to stand as a godfather for this concoction.....
Unfortunately, it doesn't get any better over time. From plastic coffee to the ultimately piercing artificial wood note, I can't report anything positive.
It's a mystery to me how my "predecessors" came to their assessments. Even considering that "every nose is different."
But to each their own.
For me, it's an absolute no-go, for which I'm thankful I could test it and didn't buy it blindly.

Addendum: Rochas Man is miles ahead here

Another addendum.
On a second attempt in winter, I must admit that the scent comes across much better. I will continue to test it a bit more.

And one more addendum:
Well, that's how it goes. What overwhelmed me in summer as synthetic muck has now turned out to be quite a pleasant gourmand companion in winter. I'm totally surprised myself. Never say never. ;-)

Opening is good, but it gets annoying with the sweetness. I didn’t like the tonka in this. Good performance.

Hey Brush
Expensive niche fragrance?
Great, woody mossy sweet-spicy maple coffee
But why are you so crooked?
Must be from bending in the drugstore shelves

I tested it in Gran Canaria. A REALLY beautiful scent (and unfortunately, I don't know a comparable fragrance). Ronaldo or not, give it a try!

Especially from hour 2, a totally successful spicy scent with a pleasant sweetness and coffee. It leans towards Rochas Man/Ferragamo Uomo.

A scent as present as CR7 on the field. A sweet-spicy performance beast with a slight resemblance to D&G The One. Affordable transfer fee ;)

A real nose claw, I must say. S/H are extreme. The scent...well...sweet, a bit powdery. Somehow an intrusive piece. Not a workplace pleaser :))))
