CPO #1 Everything Starts Anew
The U2 has finally earned a review from me, more from Al Rehab will follow.
Many years ago, I had this CPO once before, or was it even one of my first, or was it my first? *thinking* and I drew hasty conclusions, or could I simply not handle Concentrated Perfume Oils yet?
Yes, you have to find the right amount, but also the right body spots to a) not be completely enveloped and overwhelmed by the scent and b) to draw out a corresponding sillage from the perfume oils. Both can sometimes be hard to combine, which is why the first test on the wrist is recommended to simply find out how strong the oil is in general.
With U2, we are dealing with a relatively strong fragrance that initially bursts forth with a citrus note upon application and distribution, which can quickly become unpleasant and only after about half an hour to an hour tones down into a cohesive perfume; everything before that is just concentrate!
At first, the beautiful green citrus notes come into play, which later release the musk as well as light amber notes, until much later the woody notes join in, without completely overshadowing the green notes. The unspecified green notes give the U2 a certain coniferous background hum. Surely a scent has been copied here as is not uncommon with Al Rehab, but I can't immediately identify a direct scent twin, so I believe that the U2 leans towards a classic fougère fragrance from the 80s/90s.
The longevity lasts almost a workday, but after 6 hours it’s still time to reapply.
I don't want to say much more about the bottles; it’s a typical, simple labeled glass vial with a roll-on and screw cap, here the content definitely counts, and it often has quite a punch with Al Rehab!
Conclusion: Anyone who generally enjoys fougère-like fragrances should dare to test this one; it won't be available for long as it is being discontinued... Highly recommended for spring/summer!
