Royal Wood vs. Oud Wood
Through the combination of cardamom, sandalwood, oud, vetiver, and tonka bean, "Royal Wood" strongly resembles Tom Ford's "Oud Wood." Just like "Oud Wood," "Royal Wood" is right on point from the first spray. Since cardamom is present in the top notes here, it is more noticeable than in OW. In fact, I prefer the scent of Royal Woods, which is quite surprising since it is available for a fraction of the price. This was a blind buy, but the strong similarity to OW is noticeable from the very first second.
The only and quite significant drawback here is the performance. Royal Wood lasts only a few hours on my clothing, with a sillage disappearing no later than the first hour.
Despite the poor performance, I recommend the scent because it simply smells so wonderful and is affordable - I got it for €24. If one were to smell it blind, one might think it is a very expensive, luxurious perfume. Royal Wood pairs wonderfully with a rose scent.
