Summer Fragrance 2024
Some time ago, I came across the & Other Stories fragrances, as they are affordable and partly created by Jérôme Epinette, who is mainly known for some Byredo scents.

The fragrance starts off so beautifully summery-fruity. When I first smelled it, an old memory immediately surfaced: me as a child at a riding stable, drinking a cool fruit punch. I certainly hadn’t thought about that moment in over a decade, yet suddenly it was so vivid in my mind.

After the zesty grapefruit makes its first big appearance and slowly fades away, pineapple and pear join in. I must admit, I wasn't a big fan of pineapple at first. I only associated it with Aventus - and I don’t like that one. So I was a bit unsure at first whether I would still enjoy the fragrance beyond the top notes or if it would just be a fleeting memory at the start.

However, I have indeed come to love the pineapple through Sicilian Sunrise. The fruit combination is like enjoying a cool lemonade on a hot summer day. There are those summer moments when your clothes stick to you, it’s oppressively hot, and the heat is suffocating. Then there are others where you sit in the dappled shade, it’s warm, but at the same time, a cool, refreshing breeze blows. Sicilian Sunrise is exactly that kind of breeze in such a beautiful summer moment. Or a delicious, cool lemonade. Choose your image!

Even in the dry down, it doesn’t disappoint me: the fruitiness does decrease significantly, but I find the amber combination irresistible and it reminds me more of a refined dry down that I would rather categorize as niche.

I am a fan of Sicilian Sunrise. It has faithfully accompanied me this summer, and I look forward to spraying it at home on cooler days and reminiscing about the beautiful summer moments.

A delicious summer fragrance, in the same line as the Aqua di Parma 's but much more affordable- I highly recommend it.
