An underground dragon's lair
I never wear atmospherics yet I’m always tempted to try Fantome’s, because in my opinion it’s what they do best. So I picked this up wondering, “What does an underground dragon’s lair smell like?” This. It smells like this. I smell damp cave walls, earthy soil, and something mineral and slightly metallic, evoking a dragon’s horde, or maybe that’s the “dragon scales” note. This mineral/metallic note fades in the dry down, but doesn’t disappear, and the scent becomes dominated by wet earth, then wet stone, then dry earth. A must-try for the indie atmospheric lover.

Objectively an impressive scent and fascinating scent journey, but again, not something I would ever wear.

The Cave of the Green Glittering Dragon
In Bune's garden, the roots grow upwards and glow green in the dark, as if they were channeling light from the underworld into the night. If you want to know why they do this, you dive through tall blades of grass that smell rosy, of herbs and pine, of balsam, turpentine, and camphor, as if they do not know who they are. Beneath them, pale roots bend like glowing rhizomes and tiny mycelium, hissing with citrus-bright little voices a pearlescent petrichor promise of access to a cave far down in the depths of the earth.
There, moist minerals flow as fresh rock droplets down the smooth walls, warmth wafts in dark vapors, and the soft barks decay. Do not be afraid. Through the moldy clay slinks a shimmering dragon, with green glittering scales that project countless points of light from glowing grass, ethereally smoky vetivers that illuminate all the roots from within and draw minty images in Bune's garden mulch. For some, the earth now glows with sweet fruit, while for most, sweetgrass smokes the roots of the night.

Fantôme is a small company based on the coast of Washington State, run by Bree and Megan Elliott, who handcraft their fragrances in small batches. According to their own statement, they are always working to keep their wide range of scents available.
"Bune," the wise three-headed dragon (one of them human), who commands legions of spirits, can move the dead and gather devils around their graves, but also brings wisdom to humans, begins with the notes of palmarosa grasses and bright roots described above. Soon, the herbaceous, moldy earth of the nagarmotha grass reveals itself, whose vetiver-like ethereal smoke soon creates the impression of mint-soaked mulch. Sometimes, the sweet-fruity davana seems to shine through. The dragon glitters for a good eight to nine hours, moderately to close to the skin.

Smells like a cave with a dragon hibernating in it. Wet clay & ancient subterranean mineral air. Absolutely amazing.

This smells like pickle brine. It doesn't continue to be as strong, the atmospheric cave air comes thru soon but that opening is eerie

Free sample with my order, never would've chosen it on my own, but I'm SO into it! Cool, delicious mist.

Phew! Davana bolstered by nagarmotha. Spicy, dank, very unique. I technically like Kupala more but it's close. Throw from elbow goes crazy.

Very good scent if you like cellars, damp earth, moss, and green crypt vines. It has a mineral touch - intense!

"On Wednesday, Petri is in the choir," murmured from the cellar, as the damp roots spread behind the marble. So it was...
