Interesting Aspects of Tropical Grass
A distinctly independent facet is what the Swiss brand Farfalla can derive from the theme of vetiver. The vetiver in this natural perfume is inherently smoky and harsh, yet with such intriguing ingredients as witch hazel and chamomile, the perfumer manages to present this scent delicately and very softly.
In the citrus-herbaceous top note, the vetiver is hardly present, and disappointment almost sets in. The scent needs a little time to develop, as it ultimately reveals itself in a particularly gentle form. I perceived milky-creamy, almost nutty notes as a companion, perhaps also a vague memory of coconut. Only towards the base, which is certainly reached after two hours, does the vetiver emerge a bit powdery, darker, and more primal.
As is often the case in natural perfumery, a consistent intensity of the scent cannot be expected over many hours. The vetiver scent gradually fades, and here reapplication is advisable. One can feel free to spray a bit more generously, then one achieves a bit of projection.
Farfalla's vetiver is for the gentle, not the tough, and at a health food store price of €30, one really can't go wrong.
