Summer pleasure

I already described my first encounter with Ffern in my review of Autumn 24. This time, the citrus notes in the fragrance pyramid made me curious. What could be better on a hot summer's day than the tart freshness of citrus peel?
Summer 25 starts with a tart blood orange, very recognizable. After just a few minutes, the creamy floral heart begins to unfold. I am enveloped by beautiful champaca, albeit always very subtle in the silage. Subtle spice and the tart citrus do not make the fragrance too feminine, it remains unisex, albeit leaning towards the feminine, but never too sweet. As the fragrance progresses, more and more jasmine becomes noticeable, as does the vetiver, which is not earthy here, but rather fresh and green.
The whole thing has a really high-quality, mature feel. If you believe the manufacturer, the fragrance contains only natural fragrance oils. Unsurprisingly, the longevity is not that great. The fragrance reminds me a little of the corner in the health food store where the aromatic oils and room sprays are located.
I like it, Summer 25 is here to stay.
Once again, I would like to mention the beautiful and loving presentation, with scented stone, tea, cards and even a specially produced video.

Aromatic sunset

I wasn't expecting it, but the scent pulled the rug out from under my feet. First and foremost, you have the Ffern brand concept to thank for a large part of that.
It works like this: if you make it onto the list, the so-called "ledger", you receive the latest fragrance for the release (this is available 4 times a year, for each season), in my case the Summer 25, by post after the payment process. In a small cardboard box are the bottle, a sample of the perfume to test, two test strips, two tea bags, a small poster, a diffusion stone made of terracotta and a QR code on a nostalgic movie ticket. This takes you to the 3-minute short film "Pink Sky At Night" - the mood film for Summer 25 . The short film was so sweet and beautifully made, and also starred British actor Bill Nighy. I was blown away by the love with which this brand tells the story of a perfume, so much so that I was already enthusiastic even without having smelled the fragrance.
About the fragrance:
in the top note, two directions immediately came to my nose - citrus and spicy, aromatic sauna. At the back, I sense light florals, but far back.

after 10-15 minutes, the citrusy notes diminish and you are left with a warm feeling of an aromatic sauna and tart floral scents. The vetiver provides the spicy/fresh character, cardamom and nutmeg for finer spicy notes.

after a few hours, you can still feel the spicy notes, albeit much less so. Hay and benzoin provide a dryness and slight warmth.

The fragrance is perfect for summer! I see a balmy summer evening in a warm seaside region and a beautiful sunset. the longevity is okay, not outstanding, but not bad on my skin either. I notice the scent for a good 5 hours, after that it's skin-deep.
Conclusion
Long story short - I have kept the fragrance and I am thrilled. The overall concept of the brand and the attention to detail that has been put into this fragrance is just great. High-quality raw materials and sustainability are also a big issue for the brand, which I think is very nice.i can only recommend everyone to try a fragrance. I'm already looking forward to the next fragrance post from Ffern...

Should I stay or should I go?

Here it is at last, the latest Ffern for summer 2025 and my first Ffern ever! In keeping with the season, it starts with beautiful, natural, sparkling citrus and neroli - so far so good. But here comes the big - if only - BUT: something disturbs this beautiful fragrance and I don't know what it is. It reminds me a little of musty white flowers ... what could it be? And unfortunately, unfortunately, this note doesn't disappear straight away but lingers for a while.
I had already thought about sending the fragrance back, which is fortunately possible. In the evening, the surprise: I perceive a wonderful warm, spicy, slightly balsamic drydown that goes really well with summer evenings. To keep or not to keep, that is now the question.
