complex amber
Yria seems pretty unknown here in the US, even though other Yves Rocher scents are fairly common. I'm guessing that what I'm judging to be rich, multilayered scent may not come across so well to someone who dislikes the original Opium, Ungaro Diva, and other powerhouses of the 1970s and 80s.
Surprisingly, though there are several floral notes here, I don't register any of them separately. Instead, I smell a complex ambery chord that grows more intense for the first half hour, then levels out and sticks around for hours and hours. Those who are not patchouli fans may want to try this because of the patchouli's excellent role as a supporting player. It's necessary here, but unobtrusive. The most notable aspect to me is the coriander, which provides interest and lightness to the composition and sticks around throughout. A couple of spritzes can last for 10 hours easily on me.
I wear this a lot for warmth on winter nights.
