Astraea
It suits me..
I like this scent.
A few years ago, I received a Douglas voucher from my mother-in-law, thank goodness, because my mother-in-law is a person who usually likes to give practical gifts (and unfortunately often misses the mark). Since Douglas didn't have much interesting to offer otherwise, I became aware of the Förster & Johnsen corner, where the entire range was offered at that time; at the moment, these scents seem to be unavailable. I tested my way through and found "Confidence" to be the most interesting of this line.
It starts off very sweet, slightly powdery and floral. I wouldn't classify it as fresh-spicy, as mentioned above, but rather creamy, powdery, floral, possibly subtly spicy. It doesn't remind me of Clea at all, but at the beginning (after a minute) it reminds me of Le Parfum by Lalique and later (after three minutes :) ) briefly of Femme by Rochas.
It begins with iris and jasmine; I personally don't smell peach and incense (which I love, but doesn't necessarily fit with too much fruit) at all, probably this is responsible for the brief "spice." Actually, after about 10 minutes, it remains relatively one-dimensional powdery and quickly transitions into the vanilla base note, which then reminds me a little of "Jaquard by Etro." There isn't a huge scent progression, but that doesn't bother me. It's a cozy little fragrance that fits well in this gray, foggy autumn time. It probably won't be a repurchase candidate; I wouldn't spontaneously know where to get it again? Therefore, I'm not really sure if it is still being produced. (Edit: I found it on a Latvian Douglas site). But it won't run out quickly anyway.
Anyone who likes powdery, floral scents might want to give this a try; it's nothing new, but it's not as bad as its previous ratings suggest.
