Ohh this is cute. Creamsicle vibes :)

This is not a photorealistic bright zingy citrus, but rather a bit of a gourmand take that is cute and sweet. Makes me think of creamsicle orange icecreams, or those creamy orange and off-white candies that taste like oranges.

It starts out a bit more citrusy than it eventually dries down: in the drydown it becomes just a bit sweeter and creamier, with musk and amber taking over. Pretty skinscent, that lasts quite long and is very inoffensive.

Pixelated creamsicle musk. Has the same static-y, almost buzzy quality as Angel Dust. A rare plush citrus, much like my beloved Loewe 001 Woman (a downy tangerine) – but much more lively and candy-toned, with a hint of bitter peel in the drydown. Heavyweight longevity, a rarity in the world of citrus. The spa lobby of the Amsterdam W is thick with this, and made my clothes smell of it for the days to follow, but I was not in the least displeased.

Mental Snapshot: DORFic aesthetics. iPod mini adverts. Neon honeycombs. The Cingular Wireless logo guy. A solarpunk utopia. The grooviest PowerPoint template you can think of. In orange, of course.

the feeling of having a crush but make it orange

Photorealistic orange but done in a warm, fuzzy, and hazy sort of way. It feels like the feeling of having a crush on someone, but turn it into a citrus perfume, hence the fitting name. Love that the citrus here comes off very distinctly orange and not just as unintelligible citrus notes. Nails the bitterness of orange peels in the opening, has the bright muskiness of when it's freshly peeled, and the soft juiciness of it's actual fruit. A lovely take on orange.

Orange peel, not pulp

I had high hopes for this one as a lover of juicy, realistic orange scents (favourite of them being Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne). And while the opening is pleasant, bursting with photo realistic orange and zest, it quickly takes a turn. The dry down leans into bitter orange peel. It reminds me a bit of LV Symphony, another perfume that disappointed me with a dry down that felt too synthetic and pithy. Orange Crush isn’t as artificial, but it still falls flat. The brightness fades, leaving behind something dry and bitter that lingers in a way that just doesn’t sit right on my skin.

Try it! It depends...

Since Orange Crush is rated extremely divided in the reviews, I feel called upon to take up the cudgels for this unexpected souk gift. Basically, the fragrance details fit into my preferences, so I am not entirely unbiased.

I suspect that this is one of the candidates that is extremely dependent on the skin chemistry and the whole story stands or falls on that. For me, citrus fruits tend to drift towards sweetness. I therefore give Orange Crush credit for the fact that the ripe, warm and juicy orange remains present but not sticky-sweet.

For me, the fragrance develops wonderfully creamy and soft on the skin, but remains suitable for summer. Perhaps the oakmoss balances the whole thing out (fortunately, it doesn't become chypry)? I can't seem to perceive Super Iso-E properly (at least my Molecule 01 attempt was a total flop). In my opinion, Narciso Rodriguez and the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria citrus range had a little flirtation and Orange Crush came out of it. I find it surprisingly good.

I can't say too much about the silage, as I dosed it carefully so that it didn't annoy me and I tend to be sparing with summer fragrances anyway. I find the longevity of 4+h to be absolutely okay for a fresh citrus scent in summer.
