The OVERWHELMING Chypre Fragrance
I always think that when I buy a new "old," that is, vintage perfume, this is it, I finally have it, the one I've been searching for forever.
When I read around here, I notice that I am not alone in this search. ;-)
But now it has really happened, Genny has captured me, rather I have finally bought it. The dear, good Ola had it in her infinitely wonderful still-filled "Armored Closet of Vintage Classics" and it smells and smells sooo good, rather it has a delightful fragrance.
But what does it smell like, you may ask, you poor souls who do not know this wonderful, fine, spicy, fantastic perfume.
It smells of adventure, it smells of opera visits, of expensive sea voyages, of who knows what, it smells of bergamot that has fallen into roses, of rose that rolls with a lily of the valley in fresh moss, of fine "cedar patchouli sandalwood orange blossom coriander mix," of everything a perfumer used to use for such a chypre. I think the aforementioned notes are certainly not complete, because the green spiciness that is built in here must have much more inside.
The green connects brilliantly with the flowers, which smell minimally sweet, but also woody and spicy, I have no idea how that is supposed to work, but it does.
I can only agree with Michelangela and Minigolf, the fragrance is a dream and unparalleled. And now I can always dream, every time I wear GENNY.
Heaven, I'm in heaven and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
that's why I'm writing ;-)
and I seem to find the happiness, that I seek. --- (cheek to cheek, Irving Berlin)
Take care, dear ones, and do not grieve. There are still so many fragrances in this world waiting to be discovered.
