O sole mio

If you are a fan of "Aria di Mare" by "Il Profumo", don't miss the less expensive alternative, "Eau de Genny" from Italy. It has fantastic staying-power, is unforgettable and ideal for sunny days. The Italian "Mare Azzuro", and a feeling of idle days on a sunny beach in a bottle!

What an underrated gem is hidden behind
all these new bombs and generic perfumes...
This is indeed a little treasure!!
The orange blossoms with the honeysuckle in the
opening are so warm and so fresh and I think that have to do with the wonderful light notes of Lily of the valley.
It is a light Spring perfume, not heavy at all and I just tested it under a mans nose to see his reaction and he really liked it!!
Don't expect a bomb here and I keep on saying this because it comes from an other era and you may be disappointed if you love bombastic, incense, heavy hitters.
Trying to find something similar but nothing comes to mind maybe a very light summer edition of Classique by JPG with honeysuckle
and Lily of the valley for the freshness.
Not so aquatic.
I think if you can find this perfume you will love it As I do.
Another discontinued great one as always...

She Danced Only One Summer Long

Eau de Genny is neither refined nor complex nor particularly individual, but rather a simple and pleasing fragrance that is well-suited for very hot days, as not everyone loves perfume, especially not in the heat.
Eau de Genny exudes a summery Italian vacation vibe with its floral-fruity nuances, but it does not convey Italian flair and certainly not - as a label name like Genny suggests - the elegance and sophistication of alta moda Italy, but rather the memory of two or three weeks of vacation in Italy.
For a short time, it captivates with its hints of summer, sun, sea, sunscreen, citrus fruits, and lush honeysuckle. On warm days, it reveals all its charm; however, when it is cooler, synthetic notes tend to make themselves unpleasantly noticeable.
Now my bottle is almost empty, and my regret is minimal: It was nice, but nothing more. A nice summer fling, no grande passione. Unfortunately, it hasn't developed into a lasting love affair between Eau de Genny and me.

Capture the summer... and also autumn, spring, and winter too

Eau de Genny was my first and only blind buy solely based on the fragrance pyramid, because I love rosewood, but not necessarily in combination with oriental scents. I was a bit nervous, but I liked everything from the fragrance pyramid and the risk paid off. The scent starts quite fresh, and I don't know if it's due to my skin chemistry, but most fragrances skip the heart note on me and jump straight to the base note. With Eau de Genny, that's not the case; the floral notes from the heart are perceptible for a long time, even though they don't dominate extremely. After about half an hour, which is quite quick, a beautiful warm woody note comes in, making Genny wonderfully soft, almost creamy and gentle, without losing freshness until the end. However, please no comparison to Nivea cream :) The longevity is very good at about 6 - 8 hours, and I think it should be dosed quite sparingly due to the lily of the valley. In the end, soft woods fade out in a wonderful accord, but Genny remains feminine and cuddly despite the woods, and not too sweet. I can imagine Genny for the whole year, but not for every day.

The Unknown

Eau de Genny crossed my path in Southern Italy. This name meant nothing to me. What a summery fresh scent! It starts with a floral citrus freshness that transitions into the heart note after about half an hour. Honeysuckle tempers the flowers in the middle, making this phase both fresh and creamy. And this is exactly the summer sunscreen flower meadow note that I love so much, which also has aquatic accents. And it lasts and lasts and lasts. After several hours, the base note comes into play, the slightly woody scent that still contains that fresh creamy touch. I would describe Eau de Genny as an absolute summer hit that does not include the usual flora categorized as "Mediterranean" (mint, basil, rosemary, and the like).
