a fairy tale in red
I've never written a perfume review before, but I'm really excited about it at the moment and so I have to write a quick review :-) However, I'm not a "fragrance professional" and I've never been interested in what's currently trendy, stylish or highly praised, only my nose and my mood and the images in my head decide on the choice of perfume :-)
As I have loved the old Vanderbilt fragrance since the 80s, I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered the red bottle with the swan. I immediately tested it in the drugstore and loved it! Although the fragrance has nothing in common with the Vanderbilt classic, I was immediately enchanted by it. On the one hand, the fragrance sounds like a fairy tale to me. I see the stepmother of Snow White, when she still appears beautiful and adorable, in a glittering red gown with a train, deep neckline, adorned with shining rubies, dancing gracefully at a glittering castle ball, surrounded by beautiful young knights who adore her... A fragrance for the queen, not the princess. Monica Bellucci in the movie Grimm.
Then the soulful chords of a rock ballad mix in, a little schmaltzy, but soooo beautiful, romantic and seductive at the same time, innocent and yet sexy.
Definitely a self-confident fragrance, but not intrusive, powerful and feminine at the same time, playful and tactful.
A fragrance that makes me feel young inside, slightly euphoric, and it suits my preference for red dresses and red lips :-)
Perfect for the evening, but also during the day when you don't want to hold back :-)
I feel a bit like I've just fallen in love with the fragrance and it puts me in a great mood :-)
