a fairy tale in red
I have never written a perfume review before, but I am currently totally excited and therefore I have to rave a little :-) However, I am not a "scent professional" and I have never been interested in what is currently trendy, stylish, or highly praised; only my nose and my mood and the images in my head decide when choosing a perfume :-)
Since I have loved the old Vanderbilt scent since the 80s, I was positively surprised when I discovered it in the red flacon with the swan. I tested it right in the drugstore and it sparked immediately! Although the scent has nothing in common with the Vanderbilt classic, I was enchanted right away. The scent sounds like a fairy tale to me. I see the stepmother of Snow White, as she still appears beautiful and worship-worthy, in a red glittering robe with a train, deep neckline, adorned with shining rubies, gracefully dancing at a lavish castle ball, surrounded by handsome young knights who idolize her... A scent for the queen, not for the princess. Monica Bellucci in the film Grimm.
Then the emotional chords of a rock ballad mix in, a bit cheesy, but soooo beautiful, romantic, and at the same time seductive, innocent yet sexy.
Definitely a confident scent, but not overpowering, powerful and feminine at the same time, playful and rhythm-setting.
A scent that makes me feel young inside, slightly euphoric, and it fits my preference for red dresses and red lips :-)
Perfect for the evening, but also during the day when you don't want to hold back :-)
I feel a bit like freshly in love with this scent and it puts me in a great mood :-)
