Wearable Pumpkin Pie

Warm spices grounded in musky sweetness. An addictive comfort scent. Ladies, don't let the "Man" part of the name dissuade you: this scent is easily unisex.

Halloween Man is redolent of cinnamon pumpkin pie; primarily a mellowed cinnamon and ginger on a dense base of vanilla and musk. It avoids indolence due to a subtle undercurrent which peeks out during inhalation, more of a flavour than a scent; this is where the lavender hides, serving to tone the otherwise velvety/rough texture.

Sillage is great, but it's a thin line between "enough" and "cloying". Just one spray on each wrist is enough for a thick, opaque cocoon that will last the whole evening.

A take on Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million

This fragrance is a take on Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million, though the fact that it’s a rather linear one is unmistakble.

In the beginning, the mandarin orange note is easy to recognise, and you’ll get that citrucy smell, alongside with the sweetness from the other notes. Cinnamon as well, has got its touch in the dry down stage and it’s one of the main characters in this one.

Halloween Man projects well within the first 2-3 hours, and it lasts on my skin for around 7-8 hours. Needless to say that that the sweetness is well-balanced and it won’t offend people around you (that is, of course, if you don’t overspray); so, it’s a compliment getter too.

And finally, Halloween Man is not a unique fragrance, and it’s not original either; but at the end of the day, I’d say it’s a safe fragrance. That being said, it still offers a great value for the price.

This is Halloween, This is Halloween

Halloween Man from the house of Halloween (formerly Jesus Del Pozo) is a less obnoxious take on the Paco Rabanne 1 Million DNA. I used to own 1 Million but quickly sold it because it was headache inducing. Halloween Man gives the same scent profile but dials it down to tolerable levels. It also adds a nice boozy element with the martini note off the top. Despite the name, this is not some dark foreboding fragrance, but that does not mean there’s no Halloween to be found here. The sweet fruity notes included in this one actually remind me of eating candy on Halloween night after trick or treating. Safe and sound in your own home but still spooky fun. It is obviously marketed toward males but this is sweet enough to where I’d definitely consider it unisex. So ladies don’t let the marketing deter you if you love the way this one smells.

Halloween Man projects well off my skin for about 3 hours and then becomes pretty much a skin scent. The longevity is impressive though. I can still smell it on me after a 12 hour shift at work.

I purchased a 100ml tester bottle for $20 and at that price, this is tremendous value. Many will complain about how this is “synthetic” smelling and unimaginative. I don’t know what else you’d expect from a mass appealing sub $40 fragrance. It’s very wearable and is sure to garner compliments if not oversprayed.

Jesus in the swimming pool

The heading could be misinterpreted, as swimming pools can have quite a few (not always great) smells coming together.

But what makes Jesus Del Pozo`s "Halloween Man" is rather this sweetish suntan lotion / ozone mix paired with a wonderfully unobtrusive orange scent.

That makes this perfume much more complex and, above all, more innovative than Paco & Rabanne`s oft-cited "1 Million".
Also the good old "Black XS" I mean to smell from memory.

Please don't misunderstand I like 1 Million. He is for me personally just oversaturated and too often been quoted. For this, the fragrance can nix and he is still super.

And Jesus does not take 1 million away from you. He adds him something new, fruity fresh.

You feel like after a lush swim in the ocean/swimming pool.

The sunscreen gives off a sweet neroli like scent. The sun does the rest and even the freshly washed Badelaken one thinks to erduften.

It is difficult to explain but everyone who had this fragrance once in the nose, remembers again and again.
Durability and sillage are on 1 million level, the bottle is wacky but chic.

Thus, fans of sweet Paco & Rabanne fragrances can access without hesitation.

But that does not mean that everyone else should give Jesus del Pozo's creation a wide berth.
Yes, summer is coming to an end but it's not too late for a bit of swimming pool feeling from the bottle :)

No unique selling point

I don't understand why some really excellent fragrances have the same note as this one.

To me it smells like any typical men's fragrance that a "man" involuntarily gets as a gift, just so that the person opposite can say I have something great for you.

At the beginning typically aquatic, meaningless shower gel, then sweet relatively quickly. But just as quickly as it becomes cheaply sweet, it evaporates on me too.

This may all sound super arrogant, but you can really save the money and rather buy something else a few months later where you can really enjoy it.

A perfume should be a personal trademark and not something you spray on your skin so that you smell like everyone else.

It doesn't make you stand out from the crowd - it's nothing for me now.
