Who invented it? Not us Swiss, but we make one of the best!
Well, this is not about herbal trinkets from the Alpine region, which it could be, but this time it’s about spices. And not just that. Rather, it’s about a fragrance that is composed on the basis of clove. These form the "foundation" for a perfume that does not need to fear competition from other "spice orientals" like "Opium" or "Youth Dew" and similar scents. Because it somehow unites them all and yet smells distinct enough to be well recognized by connoisseurs of vintage perfumes.
Exactly! It’s the clove that does it! Around it is a wonderful array of flowers, especially roses, garden cloves, and iris. Additionally, cinnamon, pepper, and coriander join in. Probably even MORE spices, but this "trio" is clearly recognizable.
There was also no skimping on other "surroundings," as woods, earthy notes, balsamic elements, and smokiness prove. Frankincense, myrrh, vetiver, sandalwood, and much more complement and provide wonderfully long-lasting hold, pleasant sillage, and significant depth.
Yet the clove always remains in the foreground, without becoming tiresome.
Who says that the Swiss cannot create spicy-oriental fragrances???? Only Philistines! They may not have invented the fragrance concept, but they do it among the best :-))
