Funky artisanal honey. Yummy :p

Congratulations to Michele Marin!
What really stands out here is the propolis note, beautifully combined with civet. There is oud from Laos (my favourite!) buzzing in the background, very noticeable when smelled up close.
At first, I thought I had picked up something aromatic, but after checking the notes, I realized it was the blend of cinnamon/spices and the beautiful Everlasting flower, which perfectly complements the propolis/honey.
As it develops, the heart becomes more homogeneous, with smoky incense emerging.
Warm, sensual and welcoming. A beautiful creation.

Spicy Animalic Beeswax

I'll start by saying that Montecristo was the one that struck me the most out of the five ‘Les Fleurs du Mal’ at Pitti 2025.
I smelled it outside, and my impression was confirmed.
It opens with a full-bodied top note of animalic notes and Laos oud. Castoreum-civet above all (synth), a pungent propolis note, all followed by a smoky incense note. An excellent peppery cinnamon note is also perceptible among the notes. Spicy notes and a light oakmoss accompany. What dominates on the skin is a dirty, spicy, incense-like honeyed animal note.
A really nice job and definitely the best of the new 5.

The Smell of the Abyss

Whoever wears Montecristo has stopped trying to please society. This scent is the antithesis of progress and hygiene. It smells of the cruel honesty of unwashed leather, cold smoke, and the dark, animalistic aura of a predator that hasn't slept for days.

There is no romance here. It is pure, archaic neglect in a bottle. It smells of power born from dirt and violence - not from money or status. It is oily, heavy, and possesses a presence that weighs like a physical burden on those around.

Montecristo is for those who have accepted the stench of the world and wield it as a weapon. A slap in the face of modern etiquette. Whoever wears this does not mark a space - they let it die.
