Hermetica is a French perfume brand based in Paris, founded in 2018 by Clara and John Molloy to develop a new type of perfumery in which the fragrances work particularly close to the skin. The brand's development was based on the founders' belief that a fragrance should both perfume and moisturize the skin, which is why it had to be alcohol-free.
During the conception phase in 2017, the formula for the patented alcohol-free base was created, as well as a new generation of “green” molecules derived from bagasse (a by-product of sugar cane processing) that provide velvety hydration to the skin. Hermetica launched in 2018 with the introduction of its first fragrance, Source¹, and the opening of its first international retail outlets. The nose behind the debut fragrance is Aliénor Massenet.
In the following years, Hermetica expanded its international presence and emphasized environmental responsibility, for example through the use of responsibly sourced ingredients, recycled glass bottles, environmental partnerships, and the introduction of a new packaging design. The brand states that all perfumes are vegan and cruelty-free.
