Monin syrup

Sandalsun opens...very weird. To say the least... Plastic, synthetic smell... that's what comes to mind in those first 10 seconds.

Then I smell a delicious, warm hazelnut and vanilla. A hazelnut that reminds me of that hazelnut syrup "Monin" you put in coffee. Indeed! That's it! That's what this scent reminds me of. When my other half comes downstairs, he even asks, "Did you drop the bottle of Monin?" LOL But no, it's my perfume.

Sandalsun opens strongly, but quickly decreases in "strength". Until I can smell it sitting very close to my skin and I finally smell that delicious myrrh.

I like Sandalsun, but I won't buy a bottle, I will happily use my decant and have a strong cup of coffee with Monin.

If you like hazelnut, give it a try

This is one of my favourites from the Hermetica discovery set. I smell hazelnut, spice, vanilla, booze, and cocoa butter. Weirdly, I get a bit of sunscreen scent, a nutty sweet beachy scent—probably the cocoa butter? At first I preferred the somewhat similar Vaninight, because it was less sweet, but this one is growing on me. If you like hazelnut, give it a try.

"Sandalsun" by Hermetica is almost my favorite from their collection. Not super good, but still above the rather meager rest.

"Sandalsun" can evoke slight sunscreen associations, but here, without question, many grayish clouds have pushed themselves in front of the flaming celestial body. More of an autumn scent rather than a summerling. "Sandalsun" is a light gourmand scent with a nutty creaminess, without ever recalling Nutella and the like. Much more, the forest and the desert meet here for a chat without ever becoming conspicuously grandiose. But it is a good, very wearable and pleasant fragrance. One is reminded of some DSquared. Not too synthetic. Rather humorlessly futuristic. Monothon. Of course, neither is Hermetica, which is apparently a foreign word. But "Sandalsun" illuminates their repertoire, which unfortunately could never land with me.

Flacon: 80% deserved
Sillage: nutty defensive
Durability: 7 hours, rather maximum

Verdict: nutty sandalwood between bathtub and sunscreen skin, between delicious and "Nah, leave it...", between creamy and creamy. Probably the best Hermetica for me.
