Fruitichouli and New Car Smell
Reviewing based off of a sample.

Pretty, well blended and inoffensive. I really like the raspberry, leather, patchouli vibe Love Shot has going on while still being kept light and fresh with the peony and jasmine. (It helps that I enjoy all of those notes generally too lol).

This strikes a nice balance between demure, HR approved and cool girl. It sort of gives me Miss Dior/Coco Mad type of vibes in that Love Shot is a fruitichouli, but a fruitichouli that has a brand new luxury car. I saw one statement saying it reminds them of Coco Noir and while I definitely do not understand the Coco Noir comparison, I do 100% see a elements of Coco Mad in this scent.

As wear goes on the vetiver and vanilla start to take on more of a role and the scent sweetens and deepens, though the leather and patchouli is ever present. Worth noting the patchouli does take on a smokier, dirtier quality in the dry down as the vetiver starts to enter the game. I appreciate a patchouli note but recognize that may be off putting to some.

I have also seen Love Shot described as animalic and while it is a very noticeably leather note that stays for the entirety of wear, I always associate animalic smells with pungent, funky stank and I do not find Love Shot to be a stanky, dirty type of scent. Happily I get absolutely 0 of that sort of animalic urine vibe from Love Shot. It's really just a leather note that truly smells like new car or high end handbag leather.

Overall I really enjoyed this and of the 4 Ex Nihilo's I have sampled, it has been my favorite. Seems versatile -- could be worn at work but also would maybe be kind of sexy on a date because of said leather note.

I don't think this is unisex, I find it to be very feminine leaning. Performance/longevity is mid though about 4-5 hours.

Undecided if it is FB worthy but good nonetheless and worth at least testing out. If I were to use my discount voucher with the house on any of the scents I sampled it would be this one.

Can't help it either
I thought of Chanel as soon as I sprayed on Love Shot. Right at the opening, this typical Chanel DNA, shrill and madam-like, a bright yellow flower meadow with pungent synthetic 80s metallic undertones.
I am always amazed by this style, Chanel should be included in the books as an accord alongside amber, fougere and chypre, it is a fragrance art note in its own right.
But it continues with Love Shot, after this nostalgic beginning I find flowers, which become softer and say goodbye to the initial Chanel association.
But the 80's vibe is not completely lost, it smells for several hours, for me feminine and madam-like, top dressed and made up, perfect down to the toes.
And a little out of fashion...
It won't work out between the two of us, but my second Ex Nihilo is already on its way, let's see if the Fleur Narcotique Eau de Parfum can pick me up more.
I own a few Chanels and even like wearing them, but the Love Shot is like a Chanel on steroids, it's too much even for me.
For fans of the house certainly worth a test, for those who avoid Chances, Cocos & Coros and No. 5s, then better also avoid the Love Shot.
Do you know more fragrances from Ex Nihilo?
Thank you for reading my review and best regards

Elegant, classy, refined but too airy and "nice" to push my buttons. Lose it's potency very fast on my skin. Not bad, but not thrilling.

Very similar style to Coco Noir, just a bit sweeter. You don’t need both. Coco Mademoiselle is more different imo. Lacks uniqueness.

Who knew that raspberry goes so well with leather and patchouli? The leather is a soft suede. A great unisex scent.
