Interesting Facts
The two founders and operators of the Cologne-based brand Humiecki & Graef are communication designers Tobias Müksch and Sebastian Fischenich, who have worked as fashion designers for various major fashion and cosmetics houses (including Lacroix, Nina Ricci, Lancaster, Guerlain, Clarins). Artisanally, they are supported by "the two Christophers", perfumers Christophe Laudamiel and Christophe Hornetz.

The name Humiecki & Graef is a tribute to two grandmothers, each of whom greatly inspired and influenced Müksch and Fischenich.

In 2007, in order to pursue a new artistic fragrance concept, they said goodbye to the classic tripartite pyramidal structure of the fragrance progression when they started the company and invented the "star": there are no phases in the star with different longevity and alternating dominant accords, but an additive build-up of simultaneously present notes.

Humiecki & Graef perfumes are each dedicated to one emotion. The facets of human feeling are described through images and patterns evoked by scent. The perfume reflects an emotion and in turn makes it tangible in represented form.

This very artistic, ambitious project (Müksch and Fischenich speak of deconstruction and "cubism in bottles") has had impressive success in the niche and luxury perfume market: the Humiecki & Graf perfumes have been enthusiastically received by critics as exciting, unusual and very well composed fragrance experiences.

The first perfumes were: Grief ("Skarb"), Anger ("Askew"), Devotion ("Gesture"), Desire ("Eau Radieuse"), Joy ("Multiple Rouge"), Mother's Pride ("Clemency"), and Contentment ("Bosque").
