Captivating Blooms from India
I ordered Pour Lamour de l'Inde right after its release. To my surprise, I had to read here on Parfumo that the fragrance is by Isabel Derroisne. I was sure I had ordered it back then from Yves Rocher. I also saw a few offers online where the fragrance was sold under YR. Unfortunately, I no longer have my old bottle and packaging, but if I find out anything regarding this, I will of course provide an update.
In any case, I received my bottle in the mid-nineties and wore the fragrance quite often until I finished it. The bottle, a splash bottle, has an artistic cap that is supposed to represent a flower, probably the spadix or spike of an arum plant. Since it is a splash, you have to dab the fragrance on.
I really like the bottle, it’s a little work of art!
About four or five years ago, I managed to get my hands on a nearly full bottle again, and on the sticker at the bottom of the bottle, it definitely says Isabel Derroisne.
I still really like the fragrance, but I don’t find it that spicy at all. For me, the floral notes clearly dominate; it is even very floral. There are very intense bright flowers, and I also smell a lot of nectar here.
I can maybe sense a bit of pepper, but what I primarily smell are very intense flowers! I can't even say which flowers they are, but somehow the fragrance reminds me of a bloom. Unfortunately, I just don’t know which one. I think I would have to sniff around in a floral shop for that. In any case, it’s a flower with honey-sweet nectar.
It’s also possible that the combination of rose, marigold, and jasmine creates this impression for me; I really don’t know! I can’t pick out these notes individually.
Over time, the flowers calm down, and a beautiful, slightly powdery base of sandalwood and vanilla emerges. While the fragrance is quite intense at first, it then becomes very close to the skin.
I’m glad to have found another bottle of this beautiful floral scent!
