Viscous fleurmand
Siam Flamboyant smells exactly like the bottle colour and the sum of its parts - a balsamic, creamy mixture heavy on vanilla and brightened by citrus with frangipani peeping in briefly at the opening. The combination of heavy sweetness and spice was more than I could handle, a sugary dryness with the texture of sand almost scratching in my throat. My brain also reacted with headaches after a few days of continued (careful) wearing.

There are a few fragrances with a similar combination of yellow/white florals, vanilla, and citric notes. However, the namesake benzoin seems to be the main characteristic of this perfume - recalling exotic sweet dishes such as spiced warm vanilla rice pudding covered in orange syrup and powdered sugar.
While the fragrance notes may suggest otherwise, this perfume developed better in heat, true to its theme with the association of sultry summer nights at faraway places.

Dessert in an Exotic Paradise
Come with me to Thailand, which was once called Siam.
Far away from the tourist centers, paradise awaits with uniquely beautiful spots amidst tropical vegetation, an ancient mysterious culture, exotic temples, and gently smiling hospitable people.

We sit in a small bar near the beach with a view of the deep blue water, colorful birds flitting about in the trees above us. We order “Siam Flamboyant,” a local dessert specialty. A petite local woman with long shiny black hair serves the two bowls. Creamy sweetness wafts up from them and mingles with the faint aroma of the mandarins being enjoyed at the neighboring table. A child has accidentally knocked over the container of white pepper that was on our table, and its contents are now tickling our noses.

A group of young girls has gathered on the beach with flower garlands, and the enchanting scent of exotic frangipani briefly takes center stage. Distracted by the colorful commotion, we eventually turn back to the sweet delicacy in front of us and savor the creamy vanilla dessert with the brown crust of caramelized sugar. And because the spot is so beautiful, we linger in the cozy bar long after the sun sinks blood-red into the sea on the horizon, with the remnants in the emptied bowls only giving off a faint echo of the delicious dessert scent.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Figuratively, this corresponds roughly to the scent progression of Siam Flamboyant. I can only catch a brief and fleeting whiff of the mandarin at the beginning; for me, the scent is immediately primarily creamy-sweet, while the white pepper flits through the air and tickles the nose. The prickling of the pepper is replaced by the blooming of exotic flowers, with frangipani standing out distinctly here. However, the floral spectacle does not last long, and soon the dessert is spreading its scent at the table: delicious vanilla cream with a caramel sugar crust. The scent then lingers for several hours, even days on clothing, and simply fades away slowly.

I would place the sillage and longevity in the upper range.

Siam Flamboyant is definitely gourmand for me and potentially dangerous, as it creates a craving for sweets at least in my case, but everyone can test that for themselves.

A Vanilla Powder Canister ...
I'm surprised there are no comments here yet...
It's such a lovely vanilla powder scent, slightly sweet but not too sweet, just right for the autumn and winter season.

It's a shame I only have a sample; this is definitely a candidate for purchase.

Unfortunately, I don't smell much of the mandarin; it's a beautiful vanilla powder cloud that envelops you, a lovely fluffy blanket to cuddle up in during winter. Simply really nice, a scent to fall in love with ;-)
I think the white pepper ensures it doesn't become too sweet, which I find very pleasant.

The longevity is quite good for such a powdery cloud; for me, at least, it's about 6 hours now; it diminishes but is not completely gone yet. ;-)

Anyone who has the chance to test this should do so ;-)

Now a quick note about where to buy:
I know it's currently available at www.ricaud.com for 22.50 euros, which is 50% off, but I don't know how long this will last. ;-)

So have fun testing it out ;-)

Reminds me of a delicious vanilla rice pudding with a hint of spice. Similar to 'HP', yet unique enough.

Mmmmm, smells like sweet rice cake :-) A comforting scent, so soft, sweet, and reconciliatory... A gourmand sin for sweet tooths - at least 1000kcal

Similarity to "Hypnotic Poison" - yes, but SF is more subtle. Asian rice pudding, decorated with exotic flowers, describes it quite well!

Beautiful soft vanilla powder scent that reminds me more of Kenzo Amour than HP. Cozy and uncomplicated, feel-good fragrance.

Has a certain similarity to Hypnotic Poison Eau de Toilette - just fresher thanks to the O-flower & Frangipani.

Pepper-spiced fruity sweetness with a feminine frangipani touch: fragrant, flattering, appealing. Not suitable for me as a pepper allergy sufferer.

Sweet rice cake with almonds and vanilla.
Reminds me of Hypnotic Poison, but it's lacking depth.
A quite delicious gourmand scent.

Perfect scent twin to "Hypnotic Poison" by Dior, it doesn't get any closer than this.
