a secret aphrodisiac
So innocently lemony comes this fragrance...

Refreshing upon spraying, it gently evolves throughout the day, remaining balsamic and still cheerfully infused with lemon.

Oh, what a beautiful year-round scent:
a little holiday escape during the stressful winter days,
an uplifting smile in the dreary autumn,
a sunny-friendly harbinger in spring
and a refreshing delight in summer.

...and yet it has a little erotic secret ;-)

It reveals itself to me on a day when the sultry heat nearly brings me to my knees,
my body gives its all in the hope of cooling down through evaporation and keeping me somewhat upright,
when suddenly a dark, warm accord rises to my nose
and immediately sends messages through my brain, igniting an almost unbelievable desire for S.e.x.

Uhmm, ... wtf???
What just happened?

The sensual and balsamic accord of dark forest honey reveals itself,
this deep and slightly sweet scent combined with patchouli, this delightful aroma,
that catapults me into a story of Scheherazade,
that seems like a forbidden seduction...

On workdays in the height of summer, Jardin de Sicile now has a wearing ban.

But the last bottle of this now-discontinued fragrance will be guarded by me like the treasure chest of a Maharaja ;-)

Wow, how delicious
This unqualified exclamation caught me off guard with Jardin de Sicile shortly after spraying it, and this initial impression remained, even as the nuances of the fragrance shifted back and forth throughout its development. The beginning is very refreshing, lemony, and nature-identical. It's somewhat like the orange bomb Orange Sanguine, but in the citrus variant.
The heart note then ventures into the woods, losing the fruity aspect in favor of a green, slightly woody one.
The base then returns from the woods and heads into the Sicilian catacombs for a dance in the evening, where patchouli and soft, warm cuddle notes meet, providing a cozy finish.
An amazing, long-lasting summer fragrance!

Do you know the land where the lemons bloom,
In the dark leaves, the gold oranges glow,
A gentle wind blows from the blue sky,
The myrtle is quiet and the laurel stands tall?
Do you know it well? There!
There I would like to go with you, oh my beloved.
(J. W. von Goethe)

Never before have I experienced a more authentic citrus scent than this one! Bitter bergamot greets me at the start and is quickly accompanied by fresh lemon juice, which comes not from the greenish ones available here, but from fully ripe lemons. It makes me want to drink it!

In the heart, the scent is green and slightly floral, with the green impression being further enhanced by the violet, so that the lemon blossom only contributes the fragrance, but not the sweetness.

Only much later does Jardin de Sicile become darker and warmer, but also softer, as the base notes blend very well together and none of them is overly strong or unpleasantly noticeable.

Wow, what a scent! And at such an affordable price! Besides, the "Jardin" series by Isabel Derroisné is made almost entirely from natural raw materials, which also makes it stand out from the rest of the Derroisné fragrance range. To maintain the environmental thought in the packaging as well, it is kept minimal but sufficient regarding the clear bottle and comes without cellophane.

I believe Mr. von Goethe would have been absolutely thrilled with this garden water had this scent existed back then!

Campari to Spray
In my opinion, the scent should have had an Intense version and been Pimped-Up for Miel d'Oranger. Perhaps even a mix of Eau de Sud and Miel&Citron.

So in my dream vision, honey, petit grain, and as a base a tiny bit of patchouli accompanied by a hint of violet and lemon were present.

But what I smell now is: bitter orange. And it lasts quite a long time! Later, a little honey, patchouli, and lemon blossom come in to deepen it, but everything is very intense and has good projection. In this respect, this citrus-centered scent stands out from the crowd; it approaches the theme with an aromatic new twist. Although it has a hesperidic quality, it is not a refreshing little fragrance.

At first, I couldn't warm up to this scent at all, but now I've simply let go of my dream vision and given the fragrance a real chance. And suddenly I knew what it reminded me of: Campari! (Which I find undrinkable neat on ice, but as a LD with orange juice, it's great) And for going out in the evening to hang out in the beer garden, this scent is currently my favorite :)

It’s true, Jardin de Sicile. Sicily is bitter orange and nasty sour granita (but super refreshing in these temperatures), and not honey and petit grain.

And anyone who likes Campari should consider this scent; otherwise, it's better to stay away. I no longer regret having bought it, but I think after this, I'll try another citrus...

As a lemon fan, this one is right up my alley. Zesty, slightly bitter, the minimal honey note fits well. Perfect for waking up.

If you like citrus scents, this offers an expansion of horizons: bitter lemon, creamy, spicy, green sour, fresh.

Bitter green-balsamic lemon-orange sorbet with a creamy-soft texture. Sweet-sour? Bittersweet? Something new on the citrus front.

At first lemon sour, it turns into a floral scent with a honey vibe that I quite like. It doesn't evoke anything in me.

Great lemon! Unfortunately, it then becomes a bit generic, floral-powdery sweet. But that's okay too. Weak sillage and longevity.

Lemon powder with a warm, sweet base! Strong presence at first, but unfortunately fades quickly on me. For lemon fans!

No trace of lemon. Bitter orange (and I mean BITTER) turns into violet pastilles. Oh no. This won't make me friends with ID +...

I mostly just smell the lemon. It's nice and zesty, but unfortunately that's about it. Maybe a hint of honey later.

"In the summertime" Campari Spritz with ice and a slice of lemon - refreshing yet sweet at the finish. My heart leaps with joy.
