Mahera / Red Skies

New (from 2022) Shawn Mahera fragrance. A fragrance that combines notes of leather, wood, chypre, bergamot and salty air. It succeeded, and it was exceptional… because the smell is very changeable and passes from one note to another. It all changes nicely.
On my skin there is mainly a leather-blend accord, through which the brightness of bergamot and a certain salty ozone penetrate from time to time.
After getting to know 3 different Maher fragrances - I am more and more interested in him and I consider him a very good and innovative creator. I recommend.

Sailing Trip for the Experienced

I owe my acquaintance with this fragrance to the dear Cenno.
I have owned this extraordinary composition for a while now to put my solid impressions on paper.
The access was not easy, but the bulky aquatic base theme grabbed me immediately.

Shawn Maher, an extremely nice scent magician from St. Louis, Missouri, knows how to convince in a quirky way. If you like, you can check out his channel on YouTube.
Fragrant and likable!

This Chypre is unlike any other fragrance.
It tells of sea voyages, exotic impressions, and physical passion.

I understood it right away. Experiences have been captured here.

Sizzle!

An extremely sharp citrus opening almost clears the lungs like horseradish.
Relentless Kaffir lime leaf, bitter and spicy in its dark green variety, joins the blazing elemi resin in the yellow-green swirl of bergamot.
Be vigilant, sailor!
Watch the color of the sky!

Of all things, a chlorinated note provides the twisted sweet transition to the fruity heart of the composition.
As if you were breaking in your Topsiders, those popular boat shoes across the Atlantic, and cautiously donning synthetic life vests in case of heavy swells.

Slowly, the rough sea calms down, and the floral notes gently make their entrance.
The dreamed bay offers Caribbean protection but remains colorfully sober and unadorned.
The vests can be removed.

Davana exudes a multitude of fruity impressions amidst the Ylang sun.
The slow blooming of tanned skin.
Here, one can drop anchor.

Mangroves?
Reeds near the sea?

Vetiver conjures both!

And then the enticing skin, slightly sweaty from wearing the vest and seductively spicy from the salty air.
Physical jasmine and leathery labdanum can do nothing but surrender.

And it is beautifully understated on the Chypre base of good oak moss and cedar of the sailing ship.

Feelings like collages.
Sometimes exotic fruity, almost fermented, sometimes yellow-flowering floral.
Elemi resin cannot be tamed and fuels the bluish bright fire.
Salty, spicy skin trembles up to the mangroves, where freshwater finds its way to the sea.
And that very sea shifts from sweet to bitter, quite bitter and not without danger.

Not an easy sailing trip, especially not for the inexperienced who expect postcard idylls.

Here, the bitter herbaceous shading of the fragrance reminds one to stay realistic, vigilant, adventurous.
The floral and fruity breezes will reward even more.

Swimmers will be thrilled at the latest after surfacing or conquering the chlorinated pull of the water vortex.

The passion of the water, the spiciness of the skin.

All of this cannot be sent as a postcard.
