creates its own sense of occasion
I bought this years ago and gave it away. I didn't dislike it; I just couldn't find a place for it. It's a bit of a grab bag in terms of genre. It lands somewhere between neither/nor and all-of-the-above. The bright side is that Sira des Indes doesn’t have to follow the expectations of genre. It's breezy and tropical. It's spiced cream. It's quite sultry, and despite not fitting our genre expectations, it is very specific and isn't likely to be mistaken for anything else. And it's loads of fun to play with. Try its seepingly sweet humidity in arid desert heat. Try it in snowy winter.

I've never worn it in a hot, humid environment, but I imagine it might seem a bit mushy. This is a perfume that plays with tropical elements. In a truly tropical environment, it might read as phony. Still, try it sometime when you know you're going to sweat. The creaminess falls away, and the florals read like shimmering heat.

Good, not Great
I really catch the cardamom on top. Compared to other fragrances that I have tried with cardamom, it is a nice, well-mannered spice that doesn't overwhelm the other notes. There's also a slightly sweet fruity mix on top, but I don't pick out any specific fruit, including the bananas which are frequently mentioned by others. The vanilla mixes with the fruit & spices in a delightful way that is quite pleasant. @Zhara references this phase as a vanilla ice cream sundae, and I think the reference is apt, although I don't think of Siras as a gourmand.

That's the first 20 minutes, which is pretty darn special to my nose. After that, the drydown is nice but a fairly typical sandalwood, amber, & musk thing that wears close to the skin.

Overall, Siras is very good, but not great.

Enjoy's pretty sister
Sira is a warm and fine scent. Its citric as well as fruity portions are subtle and soft. There is sweetness in the scent nevertheless it is not a sweet scent, but rather a lovely soft fragrance. I find that there are no associations with an Indian issue. It does not smell Indian- thank God, guess I wouldn't like that. Sira is more like the western picture of a cozy scenario and a cozy atmosphere. To me Sira smells like the skin of a woman, heated up by the warmth of the sun and still diffusing the fruity scent of a shower gel she had used earlier. It is an enjoyable and unobstrusive scent. It does't change much from the first sniff until its drydown. One could assume the scent would be just too weak when testing it, but that is not the case and is explained by its perfect compability with skin and a very subtle sillage that is perceived as very natural and real.
There are many among us who regret that Enjoy isn't produced any longer (since beginning of 2011). Of course Enjoy is/was nice too but I have always disliked the patchouli in it. Sira appears to be the more beautiful sister of Enjoy. If Enjoy was the sister with whom you'd spend a night out clubbing, Sira is the sister you'd secretly have a severe crush on :-)

classiness with a touch of sweetness
This is fabulous. The classiness of Jean Patou with a wonderful, very sophisticated sweetness. This is mega ladylike, but not in a stiff way like so many other Jean Patou fragrances. A fragrance I still keep for special occasions, because it is not quite playful enough for me for everyday wear.

Dessert is served!
When reading the top notes I come to think of a dessert, a tasty fruit salad: Banana, bergamot, red berries, cardamom and pear. Mix all these with whipped cream, deck the table with spoons and plates - and there you go.
Sira des Indes is a sweet scent. Light, sweet and pretty. I see that some perfumistas compare it with Dior’s Dolce Vita. I would say, that this is more discreet. Dolce Vita has more cinnamon and is louder and a bit more my taste. But SdI is good. Well composed with a classy feeling to it and a gorgeous chunky bottle. The bottle actually makes me expect more of the scent than I get. Even the colour makes me want a spicy, sweet/warm experience. But the scent is way too good for me to be disappointed.
