Cool Rosewater
The first moments smelt of dewy rose petals and leaves after a morning shower, before quickly overtaken by equally watered, slightly peppered green facets and clean lily-of-the-valley - the whole conjuring a slightly soapy, herbaceous, cool dampness. To my surprise, this perfume stayed without losing its strength, enveloping me with a clean and cooling waft for about five hours. Even in the humid warmth, I could smell myself radiating an aura of 'just-showered' freshness like a protective shield.
Despite the blackcurrant listed, I could not sense any fruit nor even a hint of sweetness. There is no warmth nor anything remotely 'sensual' in this fragrance; instead of the romantic image the Victorianesque package and the utterly feminine pretty bottle might convey, you would find a composed primness also endorsed in that era. It might sound rather disillusioning, but my association would be of an ascetic icy cold bath in the morning dark, with shivering and teeth chattering.
Personally, I found this to be suited best for hot weather and wearing in the open air, since pepper seems to bother me too much when smelt too close, and the 'shower-freshness' felt a little out of place when the temperatures were low.
This is a foremost clean, green and herbaceous white floral offering a very decent longevity and projection and with a hint of rose that, for a change, does not owe its freshness to citrus.
