We continue with the wonderful affordable brand Jeanne en Provence, this time with the women's range, which offers many mostly floral notes. This brand from Provence simply has some great no-brainers in its lineup that you can usually get online and easily add to your order as a blind buy at shops that carry the brand. Of course, at this price, not all the fragrances necessarily last half the day, but that is bearable since you can easily wear them between occasions. I became aware of this Jasmin Secret because of the name, also because I like giving fragrances as gifts and jasmine is one of the notes I choose quite often. The note has a wonderful summery-fresh aura and is somewhat reminiscent of a flower meadow in summer. Jasmin Secret is a wonderful feminine fragrance that is not too complex and delivers a great overall impression. You do not get a jasmine "overkill" here, but rather a harmonious, simple floral creation with a summery freshness.
You can usually get the 60ml bottle for a great price (between €6-10). The bottle is rather cheap, but does not look sooo bad. Glass, cap, bottle? Rather basic and slightly old-school, plus a sticker with the name of the fragrance. Not a showpiece, but it serves its purpose.
The fragrance goes somewhat in the direction of
Mojave Ghost Eau de Parfum. Not a dupe, but there are slight similarities. The floral notes remain permanently in the foreground of this fragrance, only fading somewhat in the base during the final hours. In addition to the jasmine note mentioned in the name, a prominent violet note is also active. White lily completes the floral trio, although it is primarily a jasmine-violet combination. At the start, bitter-green notes are also active, creating a slightly cooling effect and harmonizing wonderfully with the floral note. The peach note from the pyramid does not play a leading role, but is subtly present in the background as a fruity note. The base of musk & sandalwood provides the usual pleasant drydown with the typical clean notes so often found at the end of floral fragrances. The base is soft, close to the skin and fades out beautifully.
Performance is in the medium range, and one could expect worse in this price class. The brand does have good quality, including in terms of longevity and sillage. Longevity? 5-6 hours. Sillage is good for 2-3 hours, then it stays close to the skin.
Overall, a wonderful fragrance that can be worn by any woman with a well-groomed appearance thanks to its clean floral notes. Wearable all year round, especially during the warmer months. Due to its average performance, it is a great choice for in-between occasions.
