Cedar is Queen
Jeanne en Provence is not the most famous House in the world of perfume. Parfumo knows 20 fragrances and they are not highly rated, either. I used to have Flanerie dans la Verger, pommes et poire (a stroll down the orchard, apples and pears) - but I sold it, because I found it quite dull. I therefore did not expect a lot from my other bottle from this house: Bouquet d’Agrumes. Luckily, as it sometimes turns out, this is a totally different story.
Bouquet d’Agrumes (a bouquet of citrus fruits) comes in this rather insignificant bottle that hides a rather good fragrance. It has the most beautiful cedar note from beginning to end. Of course I notice the fruity notes and the mint as well, but the cedar is the queen of this, despite the name of the fragrance.
It is public friendly and long lasting. It is great for a day out in spring or in summer. The price will not leave you bankrupt.

Eau du Sud
Well, here we have the second Annick Goutal relative from this relatively unknown perfume house in Grasse. Unfortunately, the scents are a bit hard to find in Germany; as far as I know, only Müller carries them. This one is, as mentioned, very similar to Eau du Sud, while the green one is inspired by Petite Cherie...

The opening is very spicy and citrusy. The only herb listed here is mint. Still, I distinctly smell more spice. Basil, for example. But also mandarin, the same type of mandarin scent that is found in Farfalla's Pleasure. It is a spicy fragrance, not to be compared with scents that replicate the sweet interior of the mandarin. I can't detect any orange. This citrus note diminishes a bit in the base but remains present and, as expected, shapes the character of the fragrance. In return, the spiciness increases again, and I recognize citrus blossoms. Towards the end, a balsamic cedarwood note comes in. A scent that does not consist of a whole potpourri of fragrances. Sometimes less is indeed more...

I wouldn't call it a dupe for Eau du Sud, but it comes very close. "Bouquet d'Agrumes - Fleur de Mandarine & Cédrat" lingers on me for 4-5 hours as a pleasantly spicy-citrusy scent. Very pleasant and far from any generic blend. The fragrance smells high-quality and noble. If I were to smell it on someone else, I would blindly associate it with the expensive Eau de Sud. I think this scent can be wonderfully worn in heat. It won't bother or annoy anyone; quite the opposite. Therefore, it can also be well-suited for the office. However, I wouldn't go around spritzing it carelessly; the scent is quite noticeable with 2-3 sprays for sensitive noses.

I almost regret that I just applied Daisy and only tested this one on my hand. But Daisy, as we know, doesn't last long anyway... ;-)

Affordable L'Occitane Alternative ?!?!
It has been a long time since I last left a comment.
Now it is finally time to leave a comment about a fragrance that can compete with the big names. But more on that later.

It was pure coincidence when the drugstore chain Müller got this fragrance in, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of it and testing it extensively.

But what kind of fragrance is this that costs just 10 euros for 60 ml EdP? It can't be of high quality.
Anyone who still thinks that only expensive fragrances smell good is greatly mistaken.
In my opinion, this is by far the best fragrance under 10 euros, even though it is labeled as a women's fragrance, it is more of a men's fragrance.

Tastes are known to be different, and that's a good thing, because who wants to smell like boring overpriced mainstream that you can find everywhere?

Not me! - Jeanne en Provence Mandarine & Cedrat is a nose pleaser far away from mainstream at a killer price.

I've written enough about the hot air, now let's get to the content!

Fleur de Mandarine & Cedrat by Jeanne Arthes is a unisex fragrance leaning towards Pour Homme in the packaging of a women's fragrance.

The top note:

Orange with a slightly sour substance combined with lemon.

The heart note:

Mint, not sweet or sticky. Pure and natural.

The base note:

Cedar along with remnants of mint and orange.

Because I know it well, I myself had a fragrance from L'Occitane from the new Grasse collection - Cedre&Oranger by Karine Dubreuil.

At least the first 10 minutes are unisex, after that it is a 1:1 copy of
Cedre&Oranger.
As a big fan of L'Occitane, I am a bit surprised that there is an exact same fragrance here with exactly the same sillage and longevity at a mini price.
Apparently, they are working with Madame Dubreuil, or am I mistaken?

Conclusion:

L'Occitane Cedre&Oranger in different packaging at a fantastic price.

This could be the lifesaver for the upcoming days over 35 C. Refreshing, tangy-bright, subtly spicy and minty! Bring it on!

For me, the best in the line. Great for hot days, unisex, very refreshing but not sour, much more elegant than you'd expect for the price.

You are plump orange like ripe mandarins and oranges, warm, fruity, you are incredible and worth the sin.

More unconventional than I thought: the felt oak moss vibe adds a buttery-bitter-herbaceous note to the citrus fruits that slightly bothers me.

Citrus bomb with no longevity and sillage. My wife finds it too intense, but I just love it. Perfect after a shower! H/S not present.
