John Varvatos XX Intense John Varvatos 2024

On my skin it's too sickly sweet smelling and too strong. It also smells sickly synthetic. Not a bad fragrance at all. Just not for me. Crimson is my favorite. Intense XX lacks the cider/apple note. THE original XX had a strong coconut note that I LOATHED. Most people are saying this scent is week, but on my skin it is STRONG and has a powerful sillage. For me it's a Winter scent.

I discovered this fragrance in February at my regular perfumery... Varvatos was new, right in the corner by the door ...but the bottles! So I went over, a little curious cat, and started spraying... all nice but nothing special to my nose and then I took the XX first spray... fresh, lemony, green... Hello Summer, I thought, but then... a few minutes later, a very lovely tonka bean tickled the scent... not dominant but it didn’t want to be overlooked, so I bought it... Compared to the longevity of other fragrances, it holds its own in the midfield, it’s not a lone fighter, not intrusive, not a catcher like Halfeti (Penhaligons)... it doesn’t really know if it’s unisex or masculine... I wear it as a woman... but it’s good, suitable for every day, goes for summer as well as winter AND it’s the only one (compared to its predecessors) that comes as an Eau de Parfum and at a really solid price for 125 ml in a very nice stone bottle with cowboy stars...

Conclusion: good for every day and for anyone who wants to be inconspicuously noticeable.
