Refreshing Gin, cucumber and rose water

Roses on Ice is weird and unique aquatic fresh scent which is like Gin Tonic made of Hendricks Gin with Cucumbers and rose water in it. It sounds weird but it’s very beautiful and addictive, interesting as well which is not the right word to describe the most of the fresh and aquatic scents. Roses On Ice doesn’t smell clearly alcohol and if you know the difference between normal, original GT and Hendricks with cucumbers you get the idea of this scent (It’s my favorite drink btw). You just have to add rose water made of baby pink petals. The base of this scent is clean white musky and the texture of the scent gets a bit thicker in the drydown thanks to Sandalwood. Anyway, it’s not creamy in any kind of way.

A Mystery Perfume

My husband surprised me with a bottle a few weeks ago and I was taken aback by the strong cucumber scent. It’s so fresh and invigorating, at first I thought it was for a man. He smells roses, but I can’t smell any rose whatsoever. I don’t know what’s wrong with my nose, because all I can smell is glorious cucumber and gin.

I love wearing this perfume day or night. It’s a happy, lighthearted scent that I think might take some time for some people to appreciate. It’s absolutely nothing like Angels’ Share! That’s like comparing apples to oranges. The only thing in common is the maker, the beautiful glass bottle, and that they’re both beautiful perfumes.

And this perfume doesn’t project too far, so I would consider this only a skin scent. It lasts 4 to 5 hours (at least in the winter). I’ll revise this review once worn in the heat.

Refreshing Gin & Tonic

I have spent like a year spraying this fragrance everytime I go to the store, but I finally pulled the trigger. I see it's apparently not for everyone based on the comments but I find this to be a great spring/summer scent.

The cucumber and juniper berry gives me distinct gin and tonic, but the cucumber also evokes nostalgia for my middle school years when I doused myself in B&BW Cucumber Melon body spray and lotion. Though the cucumber note here lasts around for the full duration of wear, I find the juniper berries give way to a sort of unique rose. The rose gives me the feeling of poutperie or dried rose petals floating in a bowl of water. There's something simultaneously diffuse, blurry and watery about this rose. It is not a crisp rose but neither is it heavy. Some may call it musty, but I wouldn't go that far.

Performance is average. About 5 hours on skin, a little longer on clothes but not much. Also worth noting I adore the packaging. That bottle, the green juice...I love everything about it. For me, Roses on Ice is a real winner and a lovely, refreshing spring/summer freshie.

Roses in a dark forest

What a blast of green freshness in the top!
Zesty lemon lime, with a hint of cucumber and a green rose in the far background. Similar to the rose used in something like ToyBoy but waaaay softer and way lighter. Despite the name, rose is not prominent at all

Soon a bitter herbal alcoholic note becomes present - I believe that's the note of Gin, an alcoholic beverage made of juniper berries. This explains the green foresty vibe it gets after some time
As with Apple brandy, I don't get alcoholic notes. This is even less boozy

To put it into a picture: A couple of roses inside a dark forest in a cold winter night - cold, herbal and just every so slightly floral. Beautifully executed.

Performance is average - kind of expected for this kind of scent profile. Definitely a summery scent for warm and hot weather. This DNA is usually on the quieter side of things. I would have hoped for a bit stronger sillage, especially in the beginning

Semi-aquatic

Roses on Ice kicks off with a semi-aquatic profile of crisp cucumber and a bright lime note. It is indeed quite a cold feeling, juicy, with a spicy finish thanks to that cucumber. It is a heavy weighting to that note early on, so be prepared.

Beyond that, juniper and rose start to come up from the heart early on, and will only grow in strength as we move forward. Very much a gin-like aroma with tonic carbonation, super boozy in its presentation.

After some time, the cucumber note will fade. Juniper and rose take the top, with a growing strength of sandalwood and a general muskiness.

Roses on Ice isn’t all that complex. In the end, I get a generally chilled scent with a heavier weighting towards the juniper, musk, and the lingering rose.

It really is exactly how it is described by Kilian. So, if you can imagine that impression in your mind, you have a close idea of what this perfume is all about.
