Simple and refreshing!
I really do like this one! It's a beautiful combination of green smells from the French countryside. You have hay, thyme, bitter orange (a very refreshing note!), with a combination of a set of other "green" and refreshing notes (mate - a green herbal tea from south america... and Chinese pure green tea). I absolutely recommend this one for summer and hot weather! Once again L'Occitane proves that they can make outstanding fragrances whilst being natural and with quality. Give this one a try in summer and you'll see what I mean!

Can you bathe in it?
The third fragrance from the Collection de Grasse is my absolute favorite.

It seems that tea scents are something L'Occitane does particularly well, as there are already several tea fragrances in the L'Occitane fragrance collection and they are very popular. Now there is also one in La Collection de Grasse.

Thé Vert & Bigarade (Bigarade = Bitter Orange or Sevilla Orange) lives up to its name perfectly. The opening features a big burst of orange, so juicy, sweet, and appetizing that it makes me crave a ripe orange right away.

Then the tea comes in, and it is impressive. A very high-quality premium green tea, enhanced with equally fresh jasmine blossoms, without sweetness.

I really enjoy drinking tea, especially green tea - though I tend to prefer it in the winter months. In the summer, I usually switch to more coffee or iced tea, with citrus juice and a bit of sweetness. Therefore, this tea as a fragrance is a wonderful way to enjoy green tea sufficiently even in summer.

Every now and then, the musk flashes through, but not very strongly and certainly not unpleasantly. For over 6 hours, I enjoy this fresh, floral-fruity tea note that envelops me in a pleasantly fresh cloud.

The fragrance is so beautiful that I want to declare it my summer scent for 2013.

Drinking tea again, as so often :)
Hey guys, I'm back and today I'm coming to a fragrance from the brand L’Occitane, which has really confused me lately. A while ago, I was out sniffing with a nice perfumer (yes, there are really nice ones among you! :DD). It was still summer and she was wearing a lovely black dress. Her beautiful legs were shining in the sun and… ahh wait… I think I'm getting sidetracked… :DD

Anyway, we went to a L’Occitane store in Frankfurt. She was looking for a fragrance, and when we couldn't find it, I asked one of the salespeople if they had the scent (though I can't remember which fragrance it was!). In response, I heard something like, "Sorry, we are not that L’Occitane." And that, even though the brand name, logo, font, and lettering were exactly the same. I just said, "Okaaay…" and slowly walked away because it felt a bit strange to me. The perfumer I was with, as far as I know, also didn't know what to make of it, did she? (I know you're reading this,… he he he).

Well, I still need to find that out, but I might also be mistaken and confusing everything with another brand… anyway, let's get to "Thé Vert & Bigarade," which sounds extremely great for tea lovers like me!

The fragrance:
Ooooh!! The scent really starts with an excellent tea note. By that, I mean that you can smell green tea, which has a very authentic aroma. Then another type of tea comes in, which (at least in this fragrance) resembles the scent of green tea a bit, as it also comes across as somewhat green and bitter, but in my opinion, it has a slightly softer aroma, namely the also wonderful yerba mate tea. However, both tea notes blend together too quickly, so that soon I can no longer really distinguish between the two teas.
Just a little later, you can also smell the thyme. An herb that may taste a bit stronger or more bitter than other herbs, but has just as wonderful and herbaceous a scent. In my opinion, such herbal fragrances can unfold beautifully, especially in summery scents, as I find that the so-called "kitchen herbs" fit excellently into summer fragrances, especially citrus scents or with notes like tea, etc.
So, despite the fresh and casual aura, the fragrance is also a bit dry in the background. This is surely due to the many bitter notes, but it doesn't bother me, as this dry feeling doesn't come across as stuffy like it does with many floral fragrances. Besides, the green tea scents are significantly stronger, which are, of course, also somewhat bitter scents :D
And that's it, as you don't smell much more. Basically, it's just tea and a bit of herb. But the little that you can sniff is all the more beautiful and, above all, quite authentic! A lovely, refreshing fragrance!

The sillage and longevity:
I bet you already guessed that I'm going to write here that the fragrance isn't particularly strong. Sadly, it actually turned out to be quite weak, so that others probably wouldn't even smell it from close by. Therefore, this is a fragrance for personal enjoyment, which you could reapply in the summer. This makes the scent feel quite short, even though it should last about three or four hours on the sprayed area.

The bottle:
The fragrance comes in a rectangular bottle made of fairly thick glass. The "&" symbol is prominently embedded in the glass on the front. The fragrance liquid is greenish and looks delicious. The black cap is cylindrical, with a threaded shape at the bottom. A somewhat inconspicuous but still nice bottle.

Aaah, I really liked this tea scent as well. There are now really beautiful and many (green) tea fragrances, making it quite difficult to decide which one to get. Because this might sound a bit critical, but it is indeed the case that most of these green tea fragrances are quite similar, so it probably isn't worth getting too many different ones, at least if the scent only smells like green tea (it's different with the Elizabeth Arden Green Teas, which have various "types" that actually smell quite different!).

However, this fragrance is definitely worth trying, and I found it very good, so it will be added to my "Good Tea Fragrances" list :)
Because it is especially refreshing in summer, particularly on really hot days, so it might help you get through heatwaves a bit better, at least if you can muster the energy to spray on a fragrance. Because usually, on such hot days, you stick somewhere in a corner hoping for some cooling, only to ultimately despair when you read in the weather report that the heatwave will last for over a week… ugh… just 5-7 more months, and we'll have heatwaves again *sigh*

Anyway, the fragrance is certainly recommendable, but unfortunately only for oneself, as others surely won't smell it on you due to the weak sillage.

Well, that's it, thank you for reading and have a nice evening :)

Framed by Soapiness and Pungent Herbs
After the blind test #9 from this afternoon, I am eager to test another fragrance, this time as First Impressions: I pull L’Occitane - Thé Vert & Bigarade, a green tea-bitter orange, from my testing box.

My references for green tea scents are, on one hand, the wonderfully refreshing "Green Tea (Eau Parfumée) | Elizabeth Arden," which has practically saved my life on many hot summer days, and the almost almond-macha-like "Un Matin au Jardin - Thé Vert | Yves Rocher," I seem to like Francis' signature.... I haven't had much experience with bitter orange; Happy Chopard - Bigaradia felt too stuffy to me, so I am very curious how this rather fresh bitter orange will behave on my skin.

It starts fresh, subtly citrusy, the bitter orange comes across more fruity than bitter. The bitterness that shines through afterward, I attribute to the herbs. The green tea feels soft, the overall scent impression is rather airy. A slight soapiness joins in. The fragrance presents itself as rather cold and herbal. The thyme feels almost like a foreign body, a wrong note that bites my nose; perhaps the mate tea also contributes to this and adds a second bite.

The harshness reminds me of "Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert Extrême | Bvlgari." I wouldn't want to compare it to my favorite green tea fragrances, as this one lags far behind.

After a while, however, it warms up a bit, loses some soapiness, becomes rounder, more aromatic, and now I find the delicate interplay between green tea and bitter orange quite charming, with the tea clearly dominating here. I can’t do much with the herbs, though; I still perceive them as a somewhat more peaceful wrong note.

However, it could appeal to those who have nothing against herbs and are not put off by initial soapiness.

It will not be joining my collection. When it comes to green tea, I prefer to stick with my tried-and-true treasures.

Citrusy-fresh describes it better
The scent seemed, from the description, to be made for me: orange, green tea, thyme, cedar, and hay - just green-fresh. However, citrusy-fresh describes it better.
The orange and tea aromas right after spraying are great. Until about 15 minutes later, when a rather biting smell sets in that seems to overshadow everything else?!
I was asked in the kitchen while baking why it smelled so much like vinegar! So we were already two who couldn't handle the unbalanced, let's call it, citrus note.
After about an hour, tea, fresh thyme, and musk are wonderfully unsweet and perceivable side by side - a true (delayed) pleasure. Too late for me. I really don't want to wait that long.

Natural green tea, accompanied by bitter orange + garden herbs. Bright, light, fresh. Becomes softer + rounder. Unfortunately fades quickly.

A short refreshment suitable for current hellish temperatures with tea, bitter orange zest, and a few herbs. I wish it would last longer..

Actually a lovely tea scent with a fine orange aroma, fresh and green. Unfortunately, the longevity is terrible. There are better and cheaper options.

Wonderful tea accord, fruity with a hint of bitter orange. This is how I imagine a successful tea scent, just wish it lasted a bit longer.

An elegant fresh scent. The bigarade stands out, while the green tea tempers the fruitiness. Unfortunately, it fades away too quickly.
