Damp Woods and Dusty Rocks
Dagger Moon was one of the first fragrances I ever tried from LVNEA, and I absolutely loved it at first. Now that I've sampled almost everything from their regular catalogue, I don't think Dagger Moon is one of their standouts.
I'm definitely getting a dusty thing in the opening, like others have mentioned. The vetiver is unmistakable. I also get notes of dry, cracked earth, and cedar/woody notes. There's a wet stone thing, but specifically stone that is caked with dirt and dust. The coffee note is like sniffing a tin of old coffee grounds, not like a hot, fresh coffee.
Overall, I think it smells kind of muddy and stale, but there are also elements that smell green and fresh, like forest air. It smells both wet and dry to me. I don't think I want to smell like this, but it's certainly photorealistic. Truly unisex, and I like it best for Springtime.
The image it conjures: sitting on a flat boulder next to a forest, drinking your morning coffee from a travel mug that you haven't properly cleaned in a while. A well-trodden trail leads into the woods. The trees are still damp from last night's rainfall, but the boulder surface has mostly dried in the morning sunshine. A brief moment of peace before you return to work (and someone in the office will probably tell you "you smell like outside").
