The opening is very, very pine. Pine needles, broken under your nose. Extremely green and very cleaner adjacent. The end result is this really brings me pine sol vibes. Not really the look anyone is going for.

From there we just continue of a massively green mossy kick and its a bit of a mossy, musky funk. Some light powder feel but overall we are damp, riverside mossiness in a big way. I was unable to get in the zone with it, it was borderline disruptive when I was sitting and painting. It isn't fresh, or light either, those angles are not here. This is heavy, damp, dank mossy.

So I guess fitting name, but overall the scent itself leaves a lot to be desired. Green/Fougere vibes I suppose, which is not my preferred profile granted, but this one is particularly unpleasant for me.

I don't like how it opens - maybe it's the bergamot, it always smells weird on my skin. It gets better eventually, cypress always makes a good perfume. I like its evolution but not the opening, like at all. Would have been very good if it just started with oakmoss or lavender... Not bad overall, but not as good as Ghost Pine, I'm just disappointed by the top notes.

This scent opened with a punch of cypress on my skin, and put me off initially, as I do not particularly enjoy cypress, I've yet to understand this note. However, cypress fades fairly quickly and the dark, resinous, and realistic pine comes through. I like the dry down very much on my skin, but not as much as I enjoy Ghost Pine. The violet leaf comes through adding the misty airy feel, here and there. Very much a fog in the pine forest scent.

One of the best LVNEA scents, in my opinion.

Beautiful shady conifers, mossy earth, soft rose, incense and lavender mist—violet leaf utilized expertly to aid this effect. Bergamot provides bright freshness at the start, complementing the naturally citric aspects of pine. I absolutely adore this scent. It really does evoke a foggy fantasy forest, secrets and mysteries lying under every mossy stone…

I admit when I first smelt it I was a bit put off by the strength of the lavender, but soon I was able to see the rest of the scene and still now consider it one of my favorites that feature the ingredient prominently. Makes the blend all the more dreamlike! Would definitely consider it relaxing/therapeutic, especially given the botanical nature.

Sillage moderate, longevity excellent. Priced competitively among niche.

Fragrance similarities: Motif Olfactif’s Sentier des Pins also features a lovely aquatic facet alongside pine, but rather than the lavender found here—substitute a voluminous jasmine.
