Sometimes you have to rethink your (pre)judgments
I deleted my previous statement about "Musc."
My perception of this wonderful fragrance today is completely different from what it was back then.
I bought the fragrance blind and for about the first 3 times I used the perfume, I was anything but thrilled. I was bothered by a strange Vitamin C fizz in the opening and the feeling of a bone-dry wood in the heart. Yes, I even doubted whether it was really a perfume at all.
When I dug the fragrance out again after some time and tried it, suddenly everything was different. Where have the troublemakers gone? (Maybe there is such a thing as maceration? ;) )
No Vitamin C fizz in sight anymore. Just a very faint hint of fruitiness at the beginning. No dust.
Instead, a wonderfully dry wood embedded in a fluffy cloud of the softest musk! I don't notice much patchouli, maybe just a faint hint; nothing at all from tonka and amber.
This non-trivial perfume is delightful! Like a soft, cozy blanket, it surrounds the wearer. That's why (and because it is well-lasting but still so quiet) I prefer to wear "Musc" after showering before going to bed. Then I feel pure and secure and fall asleep well.
