Opens with lots of grapefruit and apple. It gaves the scent its freshnes in the beginning. Then after a while I start to reconize the classique Roma coz there is the amber. The scent gets warmer a slight powdery even, but not as much as Roma does. I like this one better

Mistero di Roma begins powerfully with grapefruit and sour apple... for a second or so, I get a hint of melon, but it disappears so fast that I barely have time to react.
The grapefruit has not been sweetened in any way, it´s just as sour and bitter as it is in real life. And it lasts quite long, probably an hour or two and every time I smell my skin the grapefruit is as strong as in the beginning.

But this is not what makes me so incredibly drawn to Mistero di Roma Donna, but what happens when I move.
One gorgeous scent surrounds me in the room and it is very different from the bitter grapefruit on my arm. In the air I can feel a mixture of citrus, heliotrope and vanilla and I decide right away that I must have more of it!
The basenotes wears a resemblance to the original Roma but is so much lighter and not nearly as spicy. That makes this scent more wearable for me, because I never really know when to use Roma.
Mistero di Roma, I can see myself using every day all year round.

The base is a mix of vanilla(which now has become powdery), amber, and myrrh. Unfortunately, the scent itself is not as strong as it was in the early stages and I no longer feel it in the air when I walk ... but as it stays good for about seven - eight hours, I definitely think it's worth trying to find.

While the bright Essenza transports me to the sunlit Villa Borghese, the Mistero reminds me of hidden corners of Rome.
Side alleys where old, once magnificent houses stand, radiating their luminous decadence and bearing witness to former elegance through their peeling facades.
These are enchanting hideaways where my room is located.
The house is an old hotel, run by two elderly, well-groomed ladies from Switzerland.
The furniture is valuable and curvy, exuding the scent of oiled wood. Apples and grapefruit lie in playful glass bowls, filling the dusty air with a hint of fruitiness.
High up in my guest room, I can open a French door and step out into the Roman air, filled with the scent of almonds and anise - interwoven with the exhaust fumes of the two-stroke engines of the Vespas.
I can see the dome of St. Peter's, completely bathed in sunlight, and my nose detects myrrh and sandalwood.
On the soft bed, my beloved is dozing, exhausted from the hike over the seven hills.
This house radiates something past, mysterious, that completely captivates me.
It is a quiet island amidst the noisy hustle and bustle of the city, which will later lure me back out.
Out of my refuge right into the squares of Rome.

The day is coming to an end. Five hours of city tour through Rome at 28° C in the shade. Up and down the Spanish Steps, visited St. Peter's Square, marveled at the Roman Forum, tossed a coin into the Fontana di Trevi, avoided pushy Italian vendors, and simultaneously chased after the tour guide.

"To your left, you can see...."
"And to the right is one of the city's significant landmarks..."
"This ancient structure was built between 72 and 80 AD."
And the comments from other tourists: "Fascinating...WOW...Great...Interesting…Impressive….Wait, I need to take a photo...."
And then the relieving words: "That concludes today's city tour..."

One only looks for a nice place in a side street and is marked by thirst, fatigue, and cultural overload. Quickly orders a cappuccino and a water from the waiter and leans back with closed eyes in the comfortable rattan chair.

The street musicians across the way start playing "L’Aurora," the noise from the city center fades to a distant hum, the fountain next to the restaurant gurgles softly, and the sounds from inside the restaurant drift outside. The warm scent of the waning day lingers in the air, the brook refreshes the atmosphere, and the cypress trees standing right next to one release their fragrance. Then the waiter comes and places the cappuccino and the Amarettini on the table and retreats without a word. The day winds down, and one relaxes.

This is how Mistero di Roma smells to me. It is gentle, warm, and soothing. While the new version of Roma starts off very sharp and penetrating on my skin, Mistero di Roma begins fruity and refreshing. The heliotrope and almond from the top notes define the scent. It becomes warm, sensual, and one feels secure. The base is characterized by vanilla, musk, and amber, making Mistero di Roma at least for a time rounded and cuddly.

My tip for a city tour in Rome: Very good footwear, a good nerve outfit, and always a spritz of Mistero di Roma as a fitting conclusion.

Today, I transferred Mistero di Roma (thanks to Orientpoison) from a dropper bottle into a spray bottle to make the most of every drop.

My husband, present in the room, engrossed in the computer and hardly responsive, notices without looking up, almost casually, struck by scent molecules: “It suddenly smells so good in here!”

I reply: “That’s Mistero di Roma by Biagiotti!” I seize the opportunity to enjoy this stolen attention and wave my forearm under his nose!

He: “I love it!”

I bask in satisfaction and affirmation, having made another fragrant conquest worthy of being added to my collection.

Rome is in Italy, and Italy is a sunny land. I associate this scent with that. Not the hot midday sun, but the mild evening hours after sunset, paired with the mysterious charm of this unique city that never reveals everything, just like a mysterious woman.

Mistero di Roma opens fruity and airy, immediately appearing warm, although a tiny bit aquatic in the background provides refreshment, a contrasting scent.

Like the mild night air in Rome, the heart note begins, a vanilla heliotrope lulls you in, making you crave the southern charm until finally, the base rounds everything off with a bitter-sweet-spicy finish.

The only mystery about the scent is its longevity, which unfortunately leads to a deduction in points. The little sister of the big, creamy-spicy “Roma” falters here, but for a mild summer evening, it’s just enough for me. Wonderful!
