You were beautiful. You are beautiful. You always will be.
La Nuit de L'Homme with glowing iris at its heart. Started as a sidekick, you were still not fresh and spicy enough for us to follow in vintage La Nuit de L'Homme's footsteps.
But for me, at least, all that was about to change:
I don't know about you with this, but I have come to love this "sidekick", this flanker over the years.
The scent starts right after spraying on with a really strong iris fire blast, with a glowing, fluffy sweet core. But yet also a little Herb, oriental-spicy, with that certain mystical La Nuit flair.
It has unlike the normal La Nuit but a fruitier, orange, syrupy base. But high quality, and offset with the prominent iris that runs throughout, creating a crossover with Dior Homme and other iris fragrances.
Actually, with Dior Homme perfume, only weaker. And a little softer, less overpowering. It has but thereby this beautiful "3D depth" I love at Dior Homme & Co so much.
Vanilla and tonka bean also flatter around, which is nice. And it still gets a little 'edge' from the sage, if only an idea. The EdT is much spicier here.... I find it also a quite floral, sometimes shimmers me Gaultiers "Fleur du mal" something through.
Something I could not have wished for more beautiful actually, as a Dior Homme, Valentino Uomo or Prada L'Homme fan of the first hour. B)
It's as if La Nuit had a fluffy winter coat on, so one with fluffy hood. However, you can also wear it well in the spring or on a summer evening. Only in really hot weather, any fresher YSL product is more suitable, for example LNDL Eau Électrique, or the great L'Homme Le Parfum. (-> Both Top!!)
Excuses by the way the short form (LNDL), but the naming is now really not the shortest...
"Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense Eau de Parfum" ... those in the creative department at YSL must be having quite a time. :D
What I would like to take from my old review is, we La Nuit de L'Homme die-hard fans would have honestly just wanted the vintage version of LNDL back, instead of all the flankers... but I have to admit that even those get a bit bogged down over time, and you want to wear something else then.
And "L'Intense" has become here for me really in the long run a welcome change, a fragrance to which I reach very gladly times to make a special evening again a little more special.
The performance is rather medium-strong, however, many underestimate from my point of view the durability, as Eau de Parfum concentrations tend to last rather longer, but project weaker, as the alcohol in EdT's makes them more radiant, but higher perfume-oil content for it just increases the durability.
LNDL L'Intense radiates the first hour very strongly, then pulls back a bit towards Hautnah, but is in the Silage and movements in the environment for others then very well noticeable. Especially if you also spray in the hair and on the clothes, you come well through the day (or night ... ), with the advantage that "Oversprayen" not so fatal ends, and on the other hand you can distribute the fragrance well over the whole body.
And hey, stronger than the current La Nuit de L'Homme EdT is it all times still... ;P
And funny enough, the people who often experience me with La Nuit de L'Homme Vintage, usually think that I wear this,- although it is L'Intense! So the DNA is definitely there, and is recognized, despite the independence.
Here you can see again how deep we are in the "game", that we hardcore perfume users and connoisseurs sometimes cling to such exact ideas.
Anyway, I wear the fragrance really often and gladly, he is really beautifully done, very independent and still so what of "La Nuit". Unfortunately, he was now finally discontinued, in favor of the "LNDL Eau de Parfum", but fortunately we live in a time in which you get everything still on the net.
Also, luckily not everyone shares my love for it, which is handy in that case. ;P
For me, it remains a fragrance jewel for the ages, with which I associate many fond memories. :)
La Nuit- High Five to you all! ;)
