Lann-Aël Lostmarc'h 2007

Oddly gourmand for a perfume. But in all fairness, Lann-Aël is lighthearted and fun. And actually wearable. That maybe thanks to the limited sweetness and a fresh ambrox breeze. A joyful morning intermezzo.

Lann-Ael is the perfect Autumnal Scent in my opinion. It is cozy, spicy yet soft and gently sweetened, not cloying. It Starts off in the first few minutes like Burberry for Women Classic, but without the pears and more forward cooked apple and stewed peach notes (in their own natural juices, not in a heavy syrup) surrounded by a gentle vanilla musk and milky base. Some may perceive this as a buckwheat note, but since I eat buckwheat cereal fairly frequently, I have to say, I don't sense it in here. Instead, I submit that there is a delectable cinnamon vanilla spice note with a golden brown warm, pastry crust accord, all very naturally done-bravo! This definitely reminds me of a delicious apple pie baking in the oven. It is warm and as it heats up on my skin is gives a delicate spicy skin scent with a touch of cloves and clean musk. This is the perfect fruit-fly catching, snuggle-inducing, cozy fireside attractant scent...I would imagine that when layered with the matching shower gel and body lotion, this last for 12-16 hours. Alone- it is about 3-4 hours of yumminess. In truth, I am sample this again after many years because I remember it was one of only 3-4 fragrances that ever caused people to follow me around trying to get in close for an extra sniff and also very positive snuggling responses from the kitties, puppies and DH. They just want to gobble me up! Now I have entirely forgotten how dirty I left the kitchen and I no longer feel guilty for not actually making that apple pie tonight...this stuff is great!

The first sniff... those delicious fried sweet noddles! It took a few minutes till Lann-Ael could be evaluated as perfume.
Buckwheat and grain gave an order to the olfactory to send and order to the brain to send an order to the feet and hands to obtain chocolate corn flakes ASAP!
Generously dosed milk makes a fragrance very comforting and motherly, the same happened to LANN-AEL, which does not mean, that it would be unwearable for men. I do not know where the delicate bitterness is coming from, but the apple gives a breezy liveliness to this gourmand scent. Do not try to quarrel after donning LANN-AEL, and prepare with chocolate :-)

... but Parfumo can fulfill wishes too!
I spent my school years in a boarding school. It wasn't quite as fun as in Hanni and Nanni, though.
Still, I fondly remember that carefree youth.

How I would have loved to learn bicycle repair from an older brother, how I would have enjoyed sharing my girlhood thoughts with a sister before falling asleep, and how I would have liked to help my mother with cooking, watching her - even if it was just setting the breakfast table.
How much I longed for family and security!

I learned to cook at school and picked up various things from my grandmother during the holidays. My husband taught me bicycle repair many years later, and I entrusted my girlhood dreams to a diary.
Youth has receded into the distance.

And then I eventually met Lann-Ael.

This wonderful fragrance can soothe the longings of days gone by.
Lann-Ael feels like coming home to me.

It smelled like this in my dreams - of fresh cake, of semolina pudding, of vanilla pudding, of apples, of warm milk. The family would have sat together, we would have talked, laughed.
Love, security, and warmth ...

I have been extremely sparing with my bottle. I was completely overwhelmed by all the feelings this fragrance evoked in me every time I sprayed it. Only now, since I own a bottle, am I at ease.
For a long time - for a very long time, I can now dream.
Thoughts, wishes, longings that had been slumbering in the farthest corners have come to light.
No, I am not sad. Everyone has their story, their past.
What matters is the here and now.
Lann-Ael has given shape and form to my dreams.

Lann-Ael is a delicate, warm fragrance. I smell apples, porridge, and milk. A soft, powdery vanilla makes the scent indescribably beautiful.
The longevity is quite good. I can still clearly perceive the fragrance on clothing days later.

I don't want to wear Lann-Ael every day. Lann-Ael embraces me when I long for security, for warmth.

I can't have it all. But sometimes wishes can come true.

“Smells like baby milk porridge” or “like at Hanni and Nanni”... I read here. If that’s the case, what does a grown man nearing fifty have to do with such a scent? Well, I want to warn you! I am sure: The true secret of this fragrance, reminiscent of freshly baked apple-almond cake, is something entirely different.

“Lann-Ael” (Breton for “Heath of the Angels”) is nothing other than “Grenouilles Extract”...!!!

Do you remember the scene in “Perfume”? Grenouille is led to the main square of Grasse, where the agitated crowd and the shouting dignitaries want to celebrate his death. But the scent that emanates from Grenouille causes not only the executioner and the vengeful father of his last victim to kneel in submission, but the entire populace of Grasse to sink into an unprecedented erotic ecstasy...

When I sniff “Lann-Ael,” I imagine that something similar is possible. I believe that with this scent on my skin, I could commit crimes - and no one would hold me guilty. A man who smells so peaceful, soft, and warm - and not a bit sticky sweet - cannot be capable of terrible deeds.

The fact that no villain has yet taken advantage of this effect has two reasons. On one hand, this scent is explicitly marketed as a very feminine women’s perfume, to keep “real men” far away. On the other hand, the sillage (with good longevity on my skin) has been deliberately designed to be so subtle that one would have to get very close to the rogue to consider him innocent. Two necessary measures by the perfumers to obscure the true origin of the “Heath of Angels” and downplay its effect.

But one day, I will pour the contents of a bottle of “Lann-Ael” over myself and stand in the middle of Düsseldorf’s Burgplatz. You will hear nothing about what will unfold there, for all those I will ensnare will immediately forget the ecstasy and also what they did in it. But I will see it and keep the secret angelically and well-guarded...
