Rose in good

The title may be a little mocking, but I'm just not a big fan of rose, especially when it's the note it's primarily centered around. Here in Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum I definitely smell rose in the leading role for the first time, which I find not just okay or good, but actually very good.

Right from the opening, you are greeted with a good portion of rose, which also largely dominates the fragrance, actually until the end. I have no idea why exactly, but I find this rose pleasant. Other roses always give me something along the lines of bad breath. This one is sweet, but not sugary sweet and simply smells very seductive. Later on, there is also oud, which you can perhaps smell a little bit. Most of the time I don't, but sometimes I have the feeling that I can detect a very carefully portioned oud scent. However, only the vanilla at the end really competes with the rose in terms of intensity. In my opinion, this fragrance is even more reduced than it appears on the fragrance pyramid. But that absolutely helps to make it so good.

This fragrance is more feminine, but I also like wearing it and I've smelled it on other men too. It actually works just as well, I think. It's a special fragrance in the sense that I would wear it for a special evening, similar to Grand Soir, rather than any time of day or any occasion. It works much better in fall and winter than in spring and fall.

Longevity and sillage here is almost as good as it gets, but falls short of the usual suspects like Interlude Man, Ombre Nomade and of course Air Tiger. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine for such a niche fragrance from MFK.

I am a very big fan of this fragrance, on whoever. But my favorite is on me. That's why I would perhaps even recommend rose haters to at least try it. Maybe you'll be like me.
