No.09 - Vallée de Farney Maison Louis Marie Perfume Oil

Marie du Petit Thouars has disappointed me more times than I can count, but for this No.09 - Vallée de Farney Perfume Oil I think I would have opened my wallet, only it doesn't meet my expectations when it comes to silage and longevity. The scent is aromatic and soothing, a smell of green forest meadow, a little citrusy, with a superb patchouli and vetiver. It is quite difficult to wear during the day, as I have to apply a lot of oil from the bottle to have any impact at all, and it risks staining my clothes. I wear it every night before bed, because it helps me fall asleep easily and takes me to some idyllic places.

Cam greu de purtat în timpul zilei, pentru că trebuie să ung foarte, foarte mult ulei din sticlă ca să aibă cât de cât un impact, și riscă să păteze hainele. Îl port în fiecare seară, înainte de culcare, pentru că mă ajută să adorm ușor și mă poartă cu gândul pe niște plaiuri mioritice.

This seems close to Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette. Longevity is consistently poor on me. After one hour I don't smell anything, but I might become noseblind to it. This is strange as a perfume oil is supposed to perform better. I have a very different -and very pleasant - experience with No.04 - Bois de Balincourt from the same house (and in the same discovery set).

I got a 3mL "sample", but bear in mind that a "full bottle" is 15mL. As it is a perfume oil the volumes are quite different. You apply dramatically less with an oil. So with my small bottle, I feel safe to reapply. But even so I am bit underwhelmed here.

I will use it now and then when I am in a Terre d'Hermès Eau de Toilette mood.
