I like it…until the drydown

I like the opening of this: fruit, citrus, rum. It leans quite masculine but that’s not really a dealbreaker for me, more an observation. It’s more the drydown that doesn’t really work for me, and I’m not sure what it is. I just know there’s a note in there that strikes a harsh, discordant tone for me and clashes with the other notes I’m enjoying. I suspect it may be the combination of amber, milk and patchouli that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. Too bad, because I like a good rum scent. The longevity is quite reasonable, more so than some others from this house, so if it works well with your skin chemistry it would at least stick around.

Not exciting

I was hoping that this was going to give off Armani stronger with you intensely vibes, but it does not. It smells kind of like syrup. I feel like it’s more of a masculine sense than it is a feminine scent, but it does work as a unisex. I just feel like it’s more synthetic and find it rather unpleasant.

gourmand+leather?

a warm-ish blanket of tart fruit (i get a lot of plum) and sweet leather.. your cool cultured aunts closet filled with leather jackets from the 90's probably smells like this (in the best way possible!!), someone you'd admire but are also a bit intimidated of.. a softer version of "juliet has a gun mmmmh.." ..a new favourite??? only the name leaves me wondering where's the booze ??

dark liquor in a crystal tumbler

I get no fruit whatsoever, it's sweet leather all the way. Not especially boozy either.

Brings to mind J. P. Morgan's study at the Morgan Library. The buttery-soft leather-bound books sit on slightly dusty shelves (no one ever reads them). A heavy crystal tumbler containing one finger of very fine scotch sits on the unblemished leather desk mat, which is atop a massive mahogany desk.

Work Perfume

You could say this is my most frequented everyday scent, as I wear this to work when nothing else is calling out to me. I used to be obsessed with this scent before I was into fragrances as a hobby. It's inoffensive, nostalgic to me like the soap at a hotel you visit every year. To me, there is no boozy aspect- only fresh and jammy plum and leather. Basic, clean perfume that doesn't draw compliments. I'm obsessed with wearing this, almost as a palate cleanser between days of more flashy scents.
