A sweet, boozy, spicy and heartwarming cup of coffee

I don't always love gourmands that are too simple and realistic, so my preferred coffee fragrances are more on the perfumey side - think Black Opium and its various flankers or Montale Intense Café. Amore Caffè is much more on the literal side than these, but I surprisingly love it very much and find it quite wearable!

To me, this feels like Black Opium's gender-ambiguous older cousin. It has that delicious mixture of dark coffee and sweet, creamy vanilla, but blended with boozy, smokey, slightly spicy notes instead of the fruit and florals in Black Opium. Very warm and rich, perfect for cold days and nights. The speculoos note made me a bit suspicious that this could be one of those scents that only feel right in December, but fear not - it's only a little spicy and doesn't smell like a Christmas bakery.
Due to the amaretto note there is a touch of a cherry-almond aroma to the scent, just enough to make it feel a little juicier and not too one-dimensional.
It's not the most complex scent on earth, but definitely layered enough for me.

Edible smelling without crossing the line to gimmicky, intense like one would expect from Mancera, not a dupe of something that has been done to death - what's not to love? I'm contemplating if I should put this on my wishlist when it inevitably gets colder again, let's see if I still think about it next fall. I definitely recommend this to any coffee lover.
