Earthy liquorice evergreen
This is quite unlike any other dark green woody fragrance I've smelled, yet there's something very cozy and familiar smelling about it, too. Although perhaps the latter is a given with these kind of evocative fragrances. In any case, here we're transported to an antique wooden cottage in a thick, dark, evergreen forest. Patchouli is the main star and here it smells earthy and camphorous. It appears together with a pleasant and energizing shot of natural spearmint that regrettably doesn't stick around too long. At the same time we have the dark green pine and fir notes, and they blend in really well with the patchouli to create a 'dense evergreen forest' sensation. Usually I find these kind of fragrances (i.e., that make you smell like a walking pine tree) too dense, were it not that Force has a smooth - mildly balsamic even, quality to it, supported by liquorice (and hints of tobacco leaf, perhaps?). Force doesn't smell sweet per se, but the liquorice does add a hint of sweetness to it. Kephalis might also be responsible, as apparantly it should smell warm and a bit ambery. Everything here is very smooth, well blended, nothing clashes with each other. Apart from the minty opening the development is rather linear. All in all, quite an interesting dark green fragrance.
