Pistachio Mish-Mash
This starts out so well- fluffy, creamy, pistachio with vanilla and milk. It's light, sweet and lovely. It made me think of old-fashioned ice cream parlors. I really enjoyed this phase of the fragrance. It lasted about 30-45 minutes.

Unfortunately, a very sharp, synthetic cherry note, along with some ill-defined fruity notes came barging into the ice cream parlor. Any rice note was overwhelmed by the fruit. The fruity notes last several hours, and it just seemed like an ill-considered blend, a mish-mash of things that may work together in another context but not here.

The drydown retains some of the fruity character, although it is tamed, but the mish-mash nature of the fragrance remains, the fruit, musk and cinnamon don't smell bad; they just don't really go together with the rest of the fragrance. IMO, this fragrance could have benefitted from some editing.

Sweet pistachio ice cream in a bottle
This is very true to the name!
A creamy, fluffy, ultra sweet pistachio. Accents of almond, sugary vanilla and whipped cream make it even more scrumptious. It reminds me of pistachio ice cream, topped with a few crumbled almond cookies. The base of the scent is a sugary white musk. This doesn't have the savoriness of roasted, salted pistachios, it's clearly in the ice cream/dessert realm.
So, you really have to like it sweet to appreciate this scent.
I even understand why some might say it smells more like a scented candle than a perfume, but well, in this case it's a good candle that I wouldn't mind smelling like. And I say that even though I often find waxy, candle-like background notes in gourmands rather offputting.
In my opinion the grass green liquid doesn't fit the scent, it should be a light pastel green, maybe with some soft pink swirls. The scent feels too girly and cute for such a glaring hue.

Regarding the comparison to Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato, I think it's a matter of personal preferences in the end. If you like a more perfumey, multilayered gourmand with floral accents, patchouli etc., the Kayali is for you. If you prefer something more foody, realistic, straight to the point, Sphinx it is. I'm a perfumey gourmand girl, so I'd chose Kayali, but I totally understand how others would chose Sphinx.

No, just no!
As a warning, I'm not really a gourmand fan. Tested Creme di Pistache from a sample received from Sphinx fragrances. Fragrance opens on the sweeter side with a distinct pistachio note. As it dried down, sweetness retreats a bit but the scent becomes more synthetic. I sometimes got whiffs of a hair spray scent. To me, it's a definite feminine fragrance. Performance seems to be average all away around. Hard pass for me.

Yum...
Sphinx's new fragrance, Creme de Pistache, was such a pleasant suprise. It is everything I had hoped the Kayali Pistachio Gelato frangrance would be. Kayali Pistachio is a fine fragrance, but IMO, the name set-up false expectations. One expected creamy, fluffy notes. It did not deliver that.

Sphinx's Creme de Pistache is very nutty, realistic and gourmand. And boy, is it a beast. A lovely fragrance for cooler temperatures. I'm thinking that this would also be great for laying. For example, with Bianco Latte.

Smells like a cheap candle
I'm not generally a fan of super sweet fragrances, so perhaps I'm missing something necessary to enjoy this?

Honestly it smells like a terrible off-brand candle, it’s syrupy sweet with heaps of “pistachio” flavoring. And it is NUCLEAR. I will need to remove it from my house with a pair of those HomerSimpson-radioactive-material-tongs.
