Fluorescent???
Ergoproxy has once again delighted me with samples. Thank you very much, dear EP. Among them was this "little treasure"...

I can hardly bring myself to say it. But immediately, after a very sweet fruit salad note settles down, I am practically choked and suffocated by the musk at the same time. This musk is mixed in a strong overdose with a truly sweet fruit salad, initially slightly citrusy, but then clearly some exotic fruits with an incredibly sticky note and an extreme sweetness.

As the hour gets a bit later, it also becomes powdery - just imagine: sweet, with exotic fruits and powdery at the same time, accompanied by a large portion of very animalistic musk. Ggmmmpppffffff.

Kudos to those who can endure this "scent" on their skin!

Fermenting Fruit Still Life with Children's Bile
Very fruity. Lushly fruity. At first, there's a hint of freshness, but that quickly dissipates for me. To my nose, it develops into an overripe fruit still life in the sultry, brooding heat of a summer afternoon.

Like a fruit basket on the family kitchen table that has long been fermenting. The heat has driven everyone away, it is eerily quiet... except for a persistently buzzing fly that is no longer flying in perfectly concentric circles and... a small child's hand, which, due to a lack of remaining body size, is feeling its way somewhat blindly over the table towards the fruit basket.

Now a brief smacking sound.

- Fly -

Wild gagging noises.

- Fly -

Suddenly, an eruption-like wet splat on the kitchen floor, a small sniffle.

- Fly -

Then loud "Mama" screaming and little stubby legs fleeing from the stinky kitchen.

- Fly -

And now exactly what I smell remains: A scooped-out puree of overripe, dull berries, bananas, and mango, mixed with bitter children's bile.

Berries somehow don't sit well on my skin. Multiple Rouge by Humiecki & Graef also smells forbidden on me. But this perfume unfortunately reminds me of nothing of a cheerful multi-cultural NY street hustle (as I interpret the intention of Masaki Matsushima for this scent). Unless they are all throwing up and hurling rotten fruit at each other. (o;

Fortunately - and this is what fascinates me most about perfumes - the perception of scent is different for everyone, and each fragrance enters into an individual symbiosis with its wearer.

Happy Hour
Pour in a bit more vodka and amaretto, and you have a top-notch lady killer. Or swap the amaretto for apricot brandy and then treat yourself to a nice touchdown. If you prefer rum and triple sec, indulge in a Planter’s Punch. Or, if you’re already seeing double, just skip the alcohol and enjoy Fluo pure and alcohol-free with a bit of coconut syrup as Fantasia or simply as Tropical Punch.

I love Tivellon's comment. But recently, I happened to get my hands on this brightly colored bottle and tested it anyway. And I was immediately thrilled. I tested it two more times, then I had to have it. For me, Fluo is the perfume embodiment of the cocktail dream for happy hour at the beach club. Rich, dense, fat, and fruity, never sweet, always zesty and lightly sour, to stay in cocktail language. Unlike Colette from Histoires de Parfums, which brings me the ripe tropical fruits, Fluo transports me to much warmer and more tropical realms. With kumquat and passion fruit, I leave Europe and wander much further west towards the equator. There, where summer fruits are available all year round.

Fluo has little in common with the Escada fruit fantasies. The quirky Japanese creation is in no way sweet, sticky, coconutty, creamy, loud, or shrill, but always beautifully straightforward fruity, in perfect consistency. No floral note distracts from the fruitiness, even though the peony is a little detectable. It is more like the garnish on a large cocktail glass, the greenery in the vase. The very bright musk unites and carries the zesty fruit bomb effortlessly and gives the composition a bit more depth and multidimensionality, so that Fluo doesn’t remain quite as innocent as it initially appears.

Very summery, very fruity, very delicious. And now, one Sex on the Beach, please.

Nice opening: juicy grapefruit and sweet passionfruit, settles down to rather bland fruity-musky base. Youthful feminine summer scent.

This time Fructis fruit shampoo. Not too sweet, juicy fruits with an exotic flair soaked in soapy musk. Flowers in the background. Well.
