Out here in the fields!
Nasomatto is art. A lot of people don't get their scents but once they try them, I've seen many get hooked. Their scents are meant to evoke certain imagery and, from the ones I've tried, pull it off time and time again. I own 5 of their scents (Duro, China White, Pardon, Black Afgano, and Hindu Grass) and they are all winners in my book. I'm still looking at picking up Pardon in the future. I've waited a long time to do a review, especially on this one. You look at the note breakdown and it looks simple enough right? Let's put it under the microscope a bit.
Smell: Heavy patchouli fragrance. Let's get that out in the open. If you are not a patch fan, you probably are not gonna like this. It's not a "full" patch fragrance mainly because there are other things going on in the background. It kind of amps that patchouli and makes it extra earthy and make you feel as if you're out in a field pulling grass from the dirt itself. The artistic direction was so simplistic but nails it. I love earthy scents. It's weird how fragrance tastes have changed but I reach more for the earthy scents or my ambers lately. I give it high marks for the scent since I like patchouli personally. Overall, the scent is pretty linear and doesn't transition much, if at all. It is consistent and this is what I like.

Projection: Nasmatto has this in spades. All 4 that I've tested have been distinguishable after 10 hours and I've had to shower to remove them. They are classified under the 'extrait' category meaning they are more concentrated. This means you don't need a lot of it. I know there are some pumpers out there who like to choke out their friends/neighbors/fellow people on the train/bus because they wanna 'be noticed.' Brother/Sister, you will be noticed with 1 or 2 (MAX). Don't overdo it. You'll be projecting PLENTY for hours. Like I stated, I've had to shower this stuff off many times because it's still there after a 12-13 hour shift. Perfect marks.

Price: Only comes in one size and it's 30 mL. This is typical with all of Nasomatto's fragrances so no worries. Doesn't sound like a lot right? You would be mistaken. 30 mL is plenty considering you don't need to use much of it. It will last you a long time unless it's the only thing on your shelf and you use it constantly. 1-2 sprays is plenty. There is, however; a downside. Hindu Grass is one of the harder Nasomatto fragrances to acquire. Luckyscent used to carry it but last I checked, it wasn't there. You may have to look for it but the last I paid for it $185 ($6.17 per mL) is pricey but then I thought about what I was getting from Nasomatto. The first time you buy from them, you think it's not worth it until you realize how long this will last you and how it performs. You get quality, performance, and (if you play your cards right) a fragrance that is truly spectacular.

Versatility: Perfect for the fall. I could possibly see wearing it in spring, especially if it's cooler outside. Other than that, I won't reach for it. I typically wear Hindu Grass on special occasions. To me, this isn't something you throw on for attention/compliments although it's capable of doing both of these things. I just enjoy the smell. I highly recommend NOT wearing it to a job interview, the gym, or even on the job too depending on your job sector. Dates are a possibility. I personally wouldn't wear it on the first one though.

Final Rating: 7.2/10 by the numbers. I'd put this at a solid 8. It's a very interesting scent. If you love your patchouli scents, then this a patchouli lovers dream. So far with the 5 Nasomatto fragrances I own, they are all amazing in their own right. I was so glad to purchase Hindu grass when I did. I do recommend sampling it as your tastes (this should go without saying) may differ from mine. Hopefully you test it out and, if you do, tell me how your experience went.
