Deep dark
And so extremely dense that you cannot distinguish anything around you. You strech your arms and rely on your olphactive sense and continue to step forward overwhelmed by a resinous scent that never goes away. Yet you are never affaraid because it is a recognizable smell of fir trees or pines, a forest scent.
This is a very dark brown colour scent.
After a couple of houres you can get some tinges of warmth, from the cinnamon, I guess, or a hint of vanillas and it is like giving you some hope that the darkness will be over.
The title of this creation is so appropriate!
I would say that this is a masculine fragrance with a great longevity but a short sillage as if the forest scent penetrates your skin and stays there.

a dramatic tenebrism of umbral amber
Dark Season is a smoky woods/rich, dusty amber scent that smells of the dramatic tenebrism of all those old, spooky gothic novels and musty 19th-century weird fiction, of ancient landscapes and loam, the soot of pine logs, ghostly smoke and sifting snow in a strangely lit field, a somber ochre, an umbral amber, frost-rimmed branches scraping a scrim of leaden sky, footprints vanishing in freshly fallen snow, the creak of the wind whistling around standing stones, something terrible let loose in the dark, something that eventually fades until it's nothing more than an unquiet feeling or a cold shiver on a warm day.

Pleasant incense,
heavy on the cinnamon and oakmoss. Lots of spice for most of its life. Drydown is unexpectedly "perfumey" in that it has prominent oakmoss and patchouli on my skin. Could also be the myrrh, which is the bitter/medicinal variety here. So, in the final hours, it smells like the drydown of a classic green-balsamic chypre. Weird, but I like it.

Some nice, gentle sweetness, but vanilla is not a major player. I can wax poetic with the best of 'em, but Dark Season is just not that inspiring. It's a resinous incense, but is neither heavy, "dark," or particularly brooding to me. Instead, it's semi-transparent, arid, and even . . . fresh? I picked this over Oriza Legrand's Reve d'Ossian, which, while beautiful, dries down a tad too sweet for my taste.

Great lasting (24 hrs +) with low-moderate projection.

Neil Morris Fragrances / Dark Season
Dark Season- it will be short.
Personally, it reminds me a bit of Norn, Wald laced with cinnamon and delicately sweetened with vanilla. The smell of a dark, mossy fir forest with patchouli growing here and there. All this is combined very well with the resins: labdanum, myrrh and quite significantly enhanced by cinnamon and a dash of sweeter vanilla. Due to this treatment, the perfume is not only dark. A really very good player ... it's a pity that only 30 ml bottles, because you would like to have more. Moderate projection and good durability, about 7 hours. I also recommend other scents by Neil Morris - a very open and contact person. Unique character and very good perfume.

Reliving Neils Finnish memories
Dark Season, inspired by a starlight walk in the Finnish woods with good friends. Neil lived in Finland for a year in 1977, and he speaks Finnish, this perfume is a stunner which truly brings this experience alive in scent.

This is a dark winter scent, yet, it doesn't weigh you down. It's surprisingly light and agile. It's not solemn, but rather enchanting and inviting.

It's the scent of warm spicy cinnamon, piquant and soothing. It's the scent of stoic fir trees, their bracing crisp scent awakening your senses. It's Patchouli and Labdanum dark and seductive, earthy and real, the forest floor. It's Oakmoss pungent and earthy marrying with a spiced dirty vanilla, sweet and creamy.

I can picture myself in the forest, stars twinkling in the heavens, the air cold with winter's majesty, twigs and leaves cracking underfoot, the closeness and warmth of good friends next to you, holding gloved hands, the forest creatures aslumber, an owl hoots in the distance.

It features notes of cinnamon, fir & patchouli, as well as a dark vanilla base. The effect is cozy and inviting like a walk through a forest
