Splash of clean rose water followed by a hot towel steamed with lemongrass
To answer some of the questions that were elsewhere posed for the EDP - no, this isn't Delina.
Delina is sweet, a concoction of fluffy rose cream and syrup-like-lychee. A parfait dessert topped with fairy floss.
If anything, Delicious Rhubarb & Rose EDT canters closer to Diptyque's 'Eau Rose EDT' or MFK's 'À La Rose' (at least in general vibe, if not quality). Ignore the listed notes, there's no overload of sugar in this - and much like Molton Brown's other offerings, it tends more towards 'transparent and clean' than to anything opaque or base-heavy.
It's fresh, light, with a mild hint of green astringency underneath it all which is vaguely reminiscent of rhubarb - though the note itself isn't in focus, and I wouldn't say it's a rhubarb-heavy fragrance. It's a splash of clean rose water followed by a hot towel steamed with lemongrass, bolstered with a chorus of citrus and a base of transparent greenery.
I'm not sure if it's just my skin pulling out the 'wrong' notes, but surprisingly the rose itself takes something of a backseat once the citrus appears - I get the slightly bitter bite of grapefruit up front and centre, where it hovers for the full life of the fragrance. The rose is definitely present but I get the citrus first.
Not overly complicated and not overly "realistic" - definitely more of an abstract take on the notes than the true rose garden that Diptyque bottles - but an easy and non-offensive reach for summer. It'd layer well with their shower gel, but I've tried both, and unlike some of their other fragrances, this doesn't seem to be a direct 1:1 translation from the products to the EDT (the shower gel has much, much more and directly noticeable rhubarb).
It's very light, very airy... and very, very fleeting. Half an hour later and it's like I've never sprayed at all. It's a like but not a love, and my like is significantly tempered by the price that they're asking for it vs how quickly it disappears.
