Elegant, sophisticated, and intoxicating. A true gem in the fragrance world.

It's a terrible, terrible shame, that the original Nina was discontinued. A true beauty. This was my signature scent for years. I especially preferred it in the eau de toilette verses the eau de parfum. The eau de toilette is balanced so perfectly. For those who have never experienced Nina, I like to describe it as a sophisticated, elegant, and lightly smoldering sexy fragrance. The marigold is quite prominent. Quite disappointing that it's been replaced with a new fragrance with the same name, that is candy-like, as so many fragrances tend to be these days. I've never found anything that comes close to the original Nina, try as I may, nothing compares. Oh, how I wish they would bring this back!!!

Perhaps it was something in the air, but the last three years of the eighties saw a flowering in the art of perfume: Fahrenheit, Cool Water, Eau Dynamisante, no less than twenty notable works appeared between 1987 and 89.
And though Nina is not one of them, it does show how a mainstream floral could come up with something different. As well as the usual sweet flowery accord there’s a musky biscuit chypre and a dry marigold & orange blossom, which – like a sulky teenager’s comment – is the most interesting part of the conversation. Sadly the blending has a hit and miss feel that holds it back.

A decent NR

I love this complicated late 80s’ scent. A really sweet flowery deep fragrance from a House that has made a lot of wonderful perfumes. This is one more in the range of Nina Ricci’s successes. Quite floral but with a depth of something musky/mossy that makes it interesting to wear more than once. New notes appear every time.
The bottle is charming with the mix of frosted and see through glass. It is not at level with L’Air du Temps but still original.

Natural, likable, uncomplicated and - elegant

I encountered this fragrance shortly after its release in 1987 on a Swedish ferry. I tried it on my skin and thought I was struck by lightning! This was the scent that my grandmother had as body powder on her dresser in the bedroom, and that I loved so much. I came home and immediately had an Eau de Toilette gifted to me. Since then - I was 23 at the time - Nina 87 has accompanied me. What I love about this fragrance is its freshness (lemon, orange blossom, bergamot) in the top note, which slowly transitions into a subtly floral-fresh note and lasts about 8 hours with a very fine and light unobtrusive sweetness. The freshness has pretty much disappeared by the end, leaving a pleasant floral warmth like the sun on the skin in the evening. Yes, that’s what I associate with Nina 87. And so I was quite shocked when production was discontinued a few years ago. I had stocked up on a few bottles, but now I only have a few milliliters left. And I enjoy them very much!

Love at First Sniff

I received the fragrance from the lovely Ola, but I'm not sure if it's the same one, as my bottle looks completely different, it's square, not round. However, it is a mini, so it could very well be this one. Right, dear Ola?? On the bottle, it says NINA on one side and RICCI on the other, nothing more, so I think it is THE

In any case, it is simply wonderful!!!

So floral, friendly, and pleasant, a velvety something that immediately captivated me. It relaxes me completely, I find it a little sweet, but not heavy, very flower-fairy-like, a word that probably doesn't even exist, but perfectly describes it for me.
Is it jasmine or ylang-ylang or both? I don't find it very chypre, but there are floral chypres, and this is probably one of them.

As already mentioned here, it is an elegant, noble fragrance that you don't often find in this form anymore. I don't smell patchouli, moss, civet, or sandalwood at all; here, the flowers remain in the foreground, but that's what I like. Unfortunately, I don't know if it's an EdT or EdP?

I'm more of a green fan, but this fragrance has definitely won me over. Unfortunately, it seems to no longer be available for purchase? But that's always the case. What a shame.
I guard the few ml like my own eye. After all, one must manage the precious resource wisely.
